I think, this is not a general problem, but heavily depending on your combination of bonitors, available frequency range on both monitors, G-Sync and V-Sync Settings.
My monitor doesn’t have G-sync or similar, so I have vertical sync turned on in the Nvidia app.
There is no ghosting when using a single screen, and it’s very smooth even at 60Hz.
When using multiple monitors, the ghosting that occurs only on the main screen is different from tearing, and only part of the monitor appears to be blurred.
You should describe your setup in more detail, including the settings of the devices.
Moved out from Sim Update 4 Beta | MSFS 2024 since nothing indicates to be a regression or to be linked to the beta.
It appears to have been moved from the forum.
It seems that ghosting occurs when the main monitor is in windowed mode.
It’s much better in full screen.
When using FSR3 FG on a graphics card without DLSS FG, there was no ghosting.
I’ll check the situation in full screen.
MSFS2024 SU4 beta 1.6.30
Nvidia Control panel V-sync: ON 60Hz
RTX4070 ti (581.80)
MSFS Setting: DLSS FG ON (DLAA)
I got the title of the video wrong, it’s MSFS2024 SU4.
Are you using TVs as monitors? If so, are you using any form of “motion smoothing” on the TV? I get this effect if I try and use TruMotion on my LG OLEDs. Its kind of a form of frame generation that is inbuilt to the TV’s but I don’t think should be run with MSFS when using DLSS or FSR FG. I find the artifacts of TruMotion (which look exactly like what you’re showing) really off putting.
No, I’m not using a TV.
I use three standard 60Hz PC monitors.
It seems that ghosting doesn’t occur when I use full screen, so I’d like to try that.
Thank you.
Happy to find this post as I have the same troubles from the beginning of FS2024.
Here are my specs:
24 Core Intel i9-14900L with 36 Mo cache
64 Go RAM
RTX4090 with 24Go
FS2024 SU4 beta 1.6.30
Triple screen with ASUS ROG Strix XG32VC
My middle monitor is in full mode and my side monitors are in windowed mode as I have other parameters and program windows on the side.
With DLSS DLAA and FG OFF, I am running around ~20 to 25 FPS with heavy load sceneries and planes (all visual parameters MED and Terrain LOD and Object LOD both on 100)
With DLSS DLAA and FG ON, I gain 20 fps and jumb up to around 40 FPS BUT I have on ground and in the vicinity of it these awful artefacts blinking on left and right low side if the display, overall affecting the visual … On the picture below, the visual is not 100% well aligned, but we notice the black shape blinking on the side of the middle monitor.
As I am actually CPU limited and not GPU, I need to activate the Frame Generation to have at least 30 FPS, otherwise it is not flyable but I am really annoyed by the Frame Generation artefacts …
I would be happy to follow this post and find any solution ! Available if somebody needs test results or others to proceed forward !
Best regards,
Alain
I wonder if the issue is that you don’t have enough “native” frames to generate proper “fake frames” and the artifacts a s consequence of a lack of data in the native frames. Can you rude settings to get your native frames over 30 FPS and see if you get the same effect when turning on FG then? Does happen with FSR FG or just DLSS?
Hello, I will try tomorrow as I am not at home until then. Keep you updated.
I tested different configurations and still the Same, as soon as I start the FG, the ghosting appears. Without it activated, no ghosting at all.
Even if I reduce the parameters in ordre to stay above 30 fps before starting the FG, I did not saw any improvement.
Chat GPT gave me some NVidia Parameters to Change inside the Control Panel, but no positive effects … this is really ugly ![]()
and I only have the AMD FR 3 as Frame Generation Option, no DLSS FG at all …
