That’s incredibly useful, thank you for the refresher. I don’t use the overlay so I just hadn’t considered it, now I definitely will. Not having to go into and out of the sim to turn it on and off is really helpful. Again, thank you!
That’s the one I use for everyday flying. I was a DLAA guy in 2020, but in 2024 (also likely due to the improvements in DLSS itself) I use Quality and find it to be really good. If I was a round-dial GA pilot exclusively, I would even consider balanced or performance.
With msfs2020/2024, for VR with 9800x3d/rtx5090/64Gb6000ram, I’ve found that dlss/quality/preset K gives me the best overall visuals, with equal performance compared to dlss/performance/preset M. It does blur some fast-changing instrument numbers, but I don’t find that this to be an issue, for me anyway. Cheers.
Yeah I liked K as well. I’ve been with M since it came out, and I couldn’t care less about the 20-foot increments on the PFD not being crystal clear, either. And what a lot of people don’t understand is, DLSS renders literally everything but that particular number way better than TAA.
I was using performance with preset M but changed to balanced a couple weeks ago and I’m very happy with it. I can notice the difference in the image quality.
With my Q3/rtx5090 using VD with msfs2020/2024, I’ve found it best to use av1/150mbps, fov 80h/80v, and 90fps with ssw disabled. Msfs setting at 45fps max with reprojection enabled, and dlss/quality. Like everything VR, yrmv, lol! Cheers.
Been using it for a couple of hours now, no issues. Didn’t expect any “wow” moments and havn’t got them. I’ve seen some say moving guages whilst using M preset render a little better (the alt strip for example) but cannot say I’ve noticed.
The above applies to users who manually replace the DLSS files and use NVIDIA Profile Inspector. If you prefer using DLSS Swapper, you can simply replace the DLLs through DLSS Swapper instead.
Running 310.7 in VR (Pimax Crystal OG w/ 4090). Look pretty good so, dosn’t seem to be much of an improvement overall, but I mostly fly steam gauges… Also switched from K to M. So far so good.
