I suspect the 157GB of hard disk space relates to the original install.
In my case only 2.09 GB of files in the ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’ folder were moved to the XboxGames folder. The Official & Community folders stay put in C:\Users'user name’\AppData\Local\MSFS Packages so you shouldn’t be short changed on disk space, I certainly wasn’t 
With regard to the install path, I just selected the XboxGames folder as it was the only option open to me.
