With PCVR and my i913900k/rtx4090 pc I’ve found I can get the same improvements by simply adding some super sampling beforehand.
With my Meta Quest headsets I add 1.40x supersampling in OTT (or pixel density with ODT). With my SteamVR headsets, with global visuals manually set to 100%, I set msfs visuals to 350%.
Doing so seems to fool DLSS into believing the native resolution is higher and this results in much better clarity (esp. in the cockpit) with smoother perfomance. I generally use DLSS/Balanced and I get as good clarity that I can get with TAA, together with smoother performance, and less shimmering.
