Do I Have to Download World Updates or Can I Pick and Choose?

I haven’t bought MSFS yet, but when I do, is it mandotory to download and install the 3 world (USA, Japan & UK) updates, or can I choose to do that later? I would prefer to see what MSFS looks like out of the “box” and then decide if I want the updates later. I know I will never fly in Japan, so no need to have it take up space on the harddrive.

nope, the world updates and POI updates are not mandatory. some elements are included in the base sim update as a whole, but things like PG cities, updated airports and the POIs etc are downloaded separately in the marketplace as a free add-on.

Also allows you to save disk space if you want, so if you have no interest in flying in the UK, or the US or Japan, you need never bother downloading that content.

Ive downloaded the japan update but so far I’ve only flown in Japan once so at the moment probably not worth it for me me other than the fact that I would like to have a fully up-to-date simulator.

Glad to hear I don’t have to download it all to be able to play the game. Thanks for the help.

Once an update is downloaded from marketplace is it possible to delete it to recover the space?

Yes, it is, just click on the “I” next to the add on in the market place and you’re able to uninstall/delete that particular addon. It will still stay in the list but will no longer be installed and you will see the Download available counter go up by one.

If ever you want it back, just go back to the market place and click install on that add on.
