SU8 des not work on my computer. It locks up on the loading screen.
Please allow users to go back to SU7.
Compared to SU8 S U7 was perfect…
I have spent many hours trying to get SU8 to work.
It doesn’t.
And since SU8 I haven’t had any live traffic at all, neither taking off nor landing planes…at least I had that with SU7. And pop outs FPs don’t really work either, still 12 to 15 FPs less. And and and!!!
I have not had any of these issues. Can we get some details?
Tonight I did a flight to Joburg and in the sim an SAA flight was departing. When I looked on flight radar that SAA flight had left 15 minutes earlier in real life. I was kinda surprised to see it working this well to be honest. Also the first time I’d seen an SAA flight in the sim which was kinda cool.
rename your community folder, it’s most likely one of your mods causing issues.
I see the live traffic on the world map…the green planes. But in the game none land and take off like usual…Sometimes I see a plane somewhere at FL 360. I need to double check all that. Had already made the community folder empty, the same.
Another thing worth trying is to close the sim and sign out of xbox app and MS Store. Restart your PC. Sign back into MS Store, then xbox app, then launch MSFS from in there.
I could try that!
I have also lot of troubles, I lost my LOG book, when I select a plane to fly somewhere and during the loading proces I see a x-Box picture and I dont have a x-Box. The sim doesnot save the changes and by the startup of MSFS is not the same as before. I want to go Back to SU 7
I appreciate all the advice.
I have tried it all.
It does not help.
What I want is the ability to fall back to SU7.
Did you ever, at some point in the past, have a certain non-bing maps addon installed?
Well that’s never going to happen for reasons explained hundreds of times
We all need to be on the same version since lots of what’s happening on your system is coming from online services.
Yes
I have. Since remove.
Add-ons, mods, and other community content are an important part of MSFS and we deeply appreciate the work being done to enhance the sim. However, we do not recommend using any streamed map data add-on to replace Bing maps. Talk about the mod is prohibited in the server, and will be removed. If you’ve at any point have had the mod installed, and are now experiencing connectivity issues, please open the hosts file located in
C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/etcin a text editor like Notepad. Look for the following two lines, and delete them:127.0.0.1 kh.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net 127.0.0.1 khstorelive.azureedge.netThe community needs to keep in mind that add-ons, mods, and other community content are not official Microsoft Flight Simulator products and may cause issues with the build.
@TRPara un-break your windows hosts file, and that should sort it out
You’ll likely need to open notepad ‘as administrator’ to be able to save your changes to it, and be more careful with mods requiring administrative privileges in the future.
Every SU, someone who has a problem says “Let us opt out and go back to the previous one.”
It’s never happened, and it’s never going to happen.
From my experience over the last few days there’s now quite a few broken old mods around causing issues. The hide tool bar mod I was using was causing issues. The 10M DEM of the Himalayas I had was causing CTD and/ or huge stutters and freezes when I tried to fly out of Lukla in the Twin Otter.
They will know how flawed or not flawed SU8 is by the poll we all voted on.
It would be helpful if mod devs included details of which sim versions the mod had been confirmed compatible with. The steam workshop, for example, includes this information with almost all mods for games which support modding.
And even more helpful if mods were flagged through the content manager when they are not compatible and could be disabled there. But that, per the recent Q&A with the devs, requires some significant refactoring of the architecture.
That will not help with mods that use administrative privileges to change stuff in core windows files though
Flightsim.to lists patch compatibility it’s been tested for already, but mods having conflicts with other mods (like toolbar pushback and Mugz’ HiddenUI mod) can never be detected by the sim in advance I think. It’s all part of the ‘unsanctioned’ modding scene we in the PC world enjoy so much.
No, and tbh, those should be avoided
Also (obviously) not all mods are from flightsim.to
