I purchsed the Nieuport 24 in the MarketPlace.
Do other players (who did not buy it) see it when I fly with them?
Or do they see a generic plane?

Probably a Bonanza!
They probably see an Airbus A320 tail dragger. ![]()
Nothing is more immersive than seeing Airbus A320 pretending to be a helicopter.
To answer your question, no, if they don’t have it they won’t see it.
This is known as model matching, and that process needs some improvement.
You could see just about anything, as mentioned by some of the replies.
When adding a new plane to the marketplace, doesn’t Microsoft make a generic rendering of it (among other things) before other players can buy/download it?
No, unfortunately they do not.
They do not have the proprietary rights to do that.
Those rights are owned by the developer of the aircraft.
That takes some of the fun out of it … that’s why I see airplanes flying like helicopters often.
MSFS could just use vanilla models as a replacement for each type of plane. B407 for all helicopters, A320 for all airliners, F/A18 for all military jets and so on.
For those on PC, you could use the Multi Player Matching Tool on flightsim.to.
That does mean all of OP’s people he’s flying with would need to have M3 installed - it affects what models you see in your sim, not what other people see your aircraft as.
IMHO everyone on PC should have it installed, though. It’s awesome and does what it says on the tin (though the sim will still show the wrong model sometimes anyway). I see helicopters as helicopters now (albeit only as the default ones in the sim) and no more A320 tail-draggers.
One thing with M3 is that you need to update the source aircraft list when new 3rd party aircraft are released, or else you’ll suddenly encounter Bonanzas again. Updates are released periodically by the developers and can be found here: Multiplayer Model Matching (M3) Source Aircraft Update File for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS.
You can also manually update the target aircraft list to add aircraft you have installed locally to make those options for custom model-matching too. Usually the model matches for M3 are only to default sim aircraft, but you can customise them as you like.
I wouldn’t be without it now.
