Do we really need the failure options?

Do we really need the failure options in the sim? or is it enough with the onboard bugs? ;.)
ok, now seriously, have some one already test this i.e. enabling failures?

I laughed! Maybe the known bugs can be added as failure options. We could have a “Crash to Desktop when VFR map opened” option that can’t be turned off.

Funnily enough, I was flying the A320 neo the other day and I lost an engine. When I went to commence restart procedures, I noticed that the fuel pumps for engine 2 had been turned off. While I do have failures enabled, I’m thinking that this was a manifestation of the various “gremlins attacking cockpit switches” bugs we have seen so far. In any case, the bleed air from engine 1 was not sufficient to get a restart–I had to fire up the APU in-flight and use the APU bleed to get E2 spun back up. I would assume that in the real airplane bleed air from the running engine should have been sufficient for a restart. Finally, I would say that the A320 flew pretty well on one engine. I couldn’t hold FL390, but the descent was gradual and the airplane behaved well. Too well, in fact. Unless there is some magic Airbus system that I don’t know about (which is a possibility), I would have expected to need to hold hard right rudder to compensate for the engine loss and I would have expected to want to adjust the rudder trim accordingly.

It looks is working thats great to hear! I still need to go deeply into these options!

I flew the Beechcraft Bonanza G36 yesterday. In cruise flight I pulled the elevator too much. There was a loud bang and from then on the G36 always tilted strongly over the left wing. I then reduced the speed considerably, set the flaps and returned to the airfield as slowly as necessary. The landing was quite tricky and I’m sure I touched down a bit hard, but then I was able to roll to park position. That was a “nice” moment of shock. I actually thought that after the bang the crash window would come, but the MFS2020 probably distinguishes between airworthy and total loss.

Actually I always try not to overstress the plane. But this was an exciting experience.

Btw: No damage was visible in the exterior view.

This made me literally lol

Real pilots with failures: Emergency checklists

Flight sim pilots: shoot from the hip and “yeah that’s a bug, lemme see how to get that engine back on…”

You gotta admire our creativity lol
