I’m debating whether to download some of the world updates for areas that I don’t plan to visit right now. But, if they include even minor improvements to the game in general or any areas not in their region, I might just go ahead and install them.
Do we know how much non-region-specific material is in a given World Update?
The only thing Ive seen in them that wasnt ‘world’ update scenery, seems to be the procedural bldgs patches some of them have. I installed just those patches and it didnt seem to make any real diff with the way things looked. Even installed all the WU’s once and still saw no diff in the scenery with the proc patch.
Not advising you what to do but some people seem to think that the world updates (excluding USA for some strange reason) are currently adversely affecting sim performance. Your mileage might vary. There are probably plenty of other simers who are experiencing no issues with them.
I’ve myself have uninstalled all world updates and seem to get much better performance. Fps on my nearly 5 year old PC system is now mostly averaging 60 or more with high sim settings in payware GA (no live weather, ai traffic at 10%, no multiplayer, only 2 to 3 updated addons in Community Folder)
Nothing to stop you installing and then uninstalling WUs of course if you do have issues but I just thought I would mention my experience FWIW
