Do you cap your FPS or let it fluctuate?

With my settings between 25* and 55 fps (Ultra+ with LOD 400, shadows 8192, reflection probe 512, etc. at 3440x1440).
*Only with FBW A32NX, with default aircraft never below 30-35 and up to 70 fps in remote areas.

G-sync is very reliable up to the monitor max refesh rate. Until MSFS can push out 120+ FPS @ 4k, I’m not worried….

I’m also typically playing around 45fps in GA planes midair, dropping to 25 or so in worst case (airliner cockpit, taxiing at a scenery airport, with traffic). G-sync handles low to medium framerates very well. Sub-25 fps is still ugly and arguably not playable but it’s a hell of a lot better than sub-25 on a fixed 60hz display. I do take advantage of my display’s >120fps refresh rate in other games. It really shines at making unstable framerates look stable (which freesync should be able to do too… it just sounds like it’s not quite as good at working at low to medium framerates)

You mentioned GSync and FreeSync, is one better than the other? They should both work on Nvidia and AMD cards I believe.

I’m on the lookout for a curved, 28", 4K, adaptive synch monitor, don’t fancy my chances!

GSync is definitely better because it works at every framerate / refresh rate and is not affected by brightness flickering. Obviously it is also more expensive.
