The entire sim wasn’t worth the price, as of now, because it only sorta works and it gets worse, not better, with every patch.
For 60 USD you get standard edition. Complete game including 20 airplanes and 30 airports, flight training, 24 Landing challenges, 3 Bush trips, Japan upgrade with additional airports, high quality POI, 3 additional landing challenges.
For 120 USD, double price you only get additional 10 aircrafts and 10 airports.
Sorry but I can´t understand why I did pay 60 USD for almost nothing. Microsoft must give something more for us Premium Deluxe user…
Next “New Zealand” upgrade or what it can be should only be available for Premium deluxe user, We must have something more for double price.
I bought the whole $120 package, and regretted I didn’t go standard or even game pass.
Outside of the analogue c172, and maybe the virus, I hardly fly the other aircraft because there are so many bugs and functional problems with them.
Most of the airports that came with the package I rarely visit anyways.
I disagree. If the aircraft were all working properly then I think it’s worth the money. I wouldn’t want to see people on standard edition losing access to world updates just because what was sold isn’t currently being delivered.
If I for some reason could refund the game and redownload it, I’d get the premium deluxe again, let’s just say that!
I think it is relative. In the end I could justify it for myself. The main big airports that I knew I would use are KSFO and KDEN and I mainly wanted a Cessna 172 with a six pack. I’m not thrilled that the only way to get this was to buy the premium version, but that’s what I had to do if I wanted those three things (of course, all the other stuff helped justify the expense too). I guess this is partly how they designed it to be. So my answer is yes, it was worth it to me. Especially now seeing how much the third party planes and airports cost.
I bought the premium deluxe version and find it fully worth the money I paid for it.
“when i see the extra planes bugged”: What is bugged and not bugged has different meanings to different people. For me they are not bugged because I knew what I would be getting before buying MSFS, meaning I was expecting bugs and incomplete features from the very beginning.
The MSFS devs themselves said that 1) aircraft are not gonna be study level (although this is no subject to change), and 2) “this is a product we are gonna be supporting for 10 years and we are in it for a long journey”, which means several parts of the product is fully finished while some other parts are incomplete in various ways for various people at the moment.
Case in point: The developer of the game Papers Please (a game that sold millions of copies) never said he would support the game for 10 years. The developer of another equally popular game Pavlov VR (which also sold more than a million copies) released it back in 2017 in early access and pledged to support its development for God knows how long.
Both are equally great games and people enjoy them both at their current state, but because of the varying levels of complexity between them, one is considered fully finished, while the other one is not.
This is a good thing, for several reasons.
“lack of optimization of extra airports”: Again, like @OMICO4146 said, it depends on what you were expecting. No matter how good the components of a base flight simulator is, a third party dev somewhere out there will always make a better version of it. And again, this is a good thing. I personally am happy with whatever I’ve received from the base and premium deluxe content. And if you think there’s an issue with something, you can always report it to the developers using Zendesk.
Yep - already just to support the devs! And it’s nice for the extra airports.
Yes it was worth it. I used game pass to assess if or how the game works on my system and was happy enough with the result, so I bought the PD version. I fly only smaller GA planes at the moment, enjoy the visual flights and so on, so having more planes to choose from is what I paid for.
I think it’s kind of a 50/50 situation, where it’s split between supporting devs and having those additional planes. There aren’t much to choose from if you want to have a chill flight and enjoy the scenery.
And yes, I’m waiting things to get improved as much as the next guy. And when it comes to having somethings extra for PD buyers… I hope they’ll add something extra for everyone after all these launch troubles. But I made my decision based on my experience during game pass and future expectations (wich may or may not be met).
Please … point me in the right direction for a Good 3rd party MSFS aircraft , and I hope I do not get trampled in the rush.
So far all I see from addon developers, are hastily updated FSX planes, that really fail to meet present day expectations… they seem like a quick cash Grab while there are so few to choose from, and no real competition . (no names mentioned ~!! )
The amateur Modders are doing far better – some really amazing stuff … well done Guys
FS2020 Premium Deluxe is so cheap, this is not stealing, this is already a real bank robbery for what you get. TOP! I will use the money saved to buy hardware instead of addons.
I would understand the outrage, if MS were going to be charging for additional Updates/patches , but they they are not (at least, so far).
Yes, things are broken, but you can be sure that they want (need) them fixed as soon as possible – It is costing them a lot more in what are probably unexpected bug Fix costs, and delaying them moving forward to adding more DRM “STUFF” they can tempt us to purchase, to feed out habit.
The “I paid so much for it, and it is not all working” is getting really OLD.
- If you could not afford it, you should not have clicked on the BUY button … (a good lesson in life)
- If you think you made a mistake, and regret it … just get your money back and go spend it on something else.
- If you want to contribute to helping fix the issues, then fine, otherwise please ST#U and stop complying about the few $10’s of dollars that MSFS cost you,
If its all about the money, then many that is something YOU need to Fix with your own life, and stop crying about a small mistake you made in buying something that you now regret buying.
GET YOUR MONEY BACK, and move on !!!
EDIT:
IF I am totally OFF BASE with this post, and do not get at least 5 likes (of agreement) by next month, I will delete it … OK
If MS finds out they have been robbed, they will send us a follow-up invoice.
Sure, ive bought Premium, after 1930 i have problems with ground textures and models of photogrammetry but im sure Asobo will fix that. Sim is very young still. Errors are natural.
If you assume they sell 2m licences and take an average of $80 = $160.000.000. Win/Win Customer and Company.
Win/WIn Customer and Company.?
Better put on your tin hat quickly, even though it 'All Quiet on the Western Front 'so far in the forum tonight.

I am happy with standard version. I fly mostly Cessna 152 or FSX converted sailplanes/glider. I will spend the price difference between standard version and most expensive version for 3rd party add-ons. But for good bang for the buck I have to wait until 3Q21 or 4Q21. The payware today is not worth the money. And this problem is not only the 3rd party developers fault. FS 2020 is still buggy, Microsoft/Asobo are occupied with bug fixing. After this - in months - they hopefully work on opening the sim for 3rd party developers.
For me, no, the uplift wasn’t worth the price, as I will most likely spend, and have already spent, on external dev planes, weather and airports of higher fidelity.
However I don’t mind the fact that I am supporting Asobo as I believe the platform will provide external devs and ultimately me with what I require in the future.
I desperately want home cockpit builder support e.g. trip screen support, realism gear g1000 sdk support, and Arduino controlled steam gauge support via mobiflight and other intermediate programmes.

I think so, I’ll tell you when we leave Early Access
