Does HPG's H160 (and H145) work with Sim Update 1.4.12.0 ... or not yet

There is a March 25th post by Hype on their Facebook page that states the latest Sim Update has broken the activation on the H145 and H160.

I and others have asked if this has been fixed or is still broken … so far crickets from HPG.

My question is if any of you owning or recently purchased the H160 can confirm that the activation does or does not work? I am speaking of MSFS 2024 with Sim Update 2 beta (1.4.12.0)

Thanks Ule66 … also for those that don’t Discord … the workaround (not a real patch yet) is also on their Facebook page

Not really…it works if the end user executes a fairly obscure workaround. It’s definitely not “fixed.”

Nothing obscure about creating a new Layout.json. MSFSLayoutgenerator.exe is used by lots of devs.

And it’s open source, unlike some injectors and other stuff used by some devs that is also heavily obfuscated..

Here is the fix from their Discord if you dont have Facebook ( :+1:) or Discord..

**WORKAROUND for H145 and H160 in MSFS 2024 SU2**

- Close MSFS 2024
- Download MSFSLayoutgenerator.exe from github: https://github.com/HughesMDflyer4/MSFSLayoutGenerator/releases/download/v1.1.1/MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe
- Locate your community folder
- Drag the `layout.json` file from the `hpg-airbus-h145` directory on the downloaded exe file
- Drag the `layout.json` file from the `hpg-airbus-h145-ap` directory on the downloaded exe file when applicable
- Restart MSFS 2024

If this isn’t obscure, I can’t imagine what is. Can you imagine having to do this surgery to get Call of Duty to work? I am a customer, not a dev.

Hummm, well I have to add that if the dev just waits for someone else to fix their problem, doesn’t issue a real patch and ignores their customers I have to wonder why anyone would want to do biz with them … just say’n …

I bought H160 back when it came out back then. The helicopter is alright and looks good but they never really “officially” updated it either (not via their HPG Software/manager) I had to go on Discord, Subscribe to HPG then had to scroll through Pinned comments to download a Beta file.

They never released any Mission Pack for H160 even if they announced it back in 2023. They never updated their helicopters for msfs2024, never updated their H225 either, completely stopped responding to feedback and doing any sort of support from November 2024 until March or April this year, and what probably made them get out of the woods is because Jorg called them out hard in the MS/Asobo Live Q&A.

I uninstalled their H160 when it stopped working because of some activation problem and now it seems I have to fix it myself instead of them actually doing something about it.

They lost me as a customer and I will never support them again.
