Does MSFS 2024 come with more/improved water runways and seaports?

Just wondering as there are now a good number of aircraft that can land on water. MSFS 2020 didn’t have a lot.

There are a lot, in my brief examination around the map last night looking for good places to fly the Albatross.

Now that said, the developer of the Albatross says Asobo has finally added a much-requested feature to let you start from ANY body of water in the sim by selecting it as departure location and selecting “On the ground” from the options. I haven’t had a chance to test this yet but I’m am VERY excited for this!

@Creekdog5658 Yes you can, for the first time ever! You can start on water anywhere you like, by clicking a point on the world map, and then selecting “set as departure point”. Then from the top dropdown menu change your custom location from “airborne” to “on ground, shutdown” or “on ground, ready for takeoff”. And that’s it. Ps: I recommend using “on ground, ready for takeoff”. The sim is not currently respecting the apronwater.flt file settings, so if starting on the water and…

I’ve just tried to fly with the seaplane Savoia Marchetti S.55X , on freeflight I’ve entered an ICAO seaport as I usually did on 2020 and…surprise : it’s now associate to an heliport..Zoomed-in the map and found that there are no seaports icons in that area anymore. I’ll search along the sea costs to find one if any..
