After the 1.13.16 update I have had 5 system crashes, mostly when attempting to adjust autopilot or GNS530. Sound goes off, then back on, then MSFS exits immediately to desktop. Does the system log these crashes and report it to ASOBO?
Do I need to be documenting every system crash?
I can’t imagine that would be the case, since I’ve never seen it shown as a new enhancement, and for privacy reasons, I’m sure they would want to disclose doing something like that.
But if they do, I’d sure love to see that log.
If you’re lucky it’s been reported to Microsoft and that’s it.
NO, not, no
It doesn’t report the crash to Asobo.
In many cases, the crash will be logged in your WIndows Event View and you can see what module caused the crash. You’re expected to file a ZenDesk ticket with the information contained in the error log.
However, there are a crashes that don’t log the error at all. You get a mysterious CTD and there’s no trace of it in the event logs at all.
Each user’s Windows privacy settings determine if a crash is reported to MS. Don’t know what MS does with them.
I’ve been getting CTDs occasionally while flying the new UK scenery, especially when there has been a lot of ATC traffic on the COM.
