Does MSFS2024 actually work for anyone?

After reading some of the comments, I’m glad I made the decision not to buy the 2024 version. I’ve already suffered enough with the two years after buying the 2020. I don’t want to go through all that again. In my opinion, the academy mode is pointless, given that I already know how to fly a plane. And the career mode, it’s not something that appeals to me. As for the performance and improvements of the 2024, they don’t seem very different to me from the old 2020. Also, it seems crazy to me that everything is in the cloud. To me it was common sense that an infrastructure that could support all that for all users was not viable. It seems strange to me that we have to make a large investment in a computer with the processor, graphics card and memory necessary to run it without problems, and we don’t spend a little more money to have enough storage on our PC. Another thing is for XBox users who are more limited. It seems absurd to me. Let’s be honest, for many simulation fans, the worst thing about MSFS2020 was integrating XBox users, for the simple reason that they are more casual players than PC players, and that we are not talking about a video game, but a simulator. What bothered me the most was the list of achievements for a simulator. A simulator is not an arcade. Many of us thought that a light version of the simulator would have been preferable, for XBox users, and a more “professional” mode for those of us who are true simmers. We have spent a lot of time and money preparing our virtual cockpits, only to have our user experience ruined by a CTD when integrating gameplay for XBox. And now, when we can already enjoy a decent simulator, they want to sell us a series of improvements as a new simulator. Well, I’m sorry, I don’t accept it. As we say in Spain, I prefer the old and bad known, to the new and good to know.
