Does MSFS2024 actually work for anyone?

Steam version with a bleeding edge self-built computer. I run at 4K Ultra with LOD settings maxxed. Frame rates, with DLSS Frame Generation on, range from 40ish to mid-70’s, depending on where I’m flying.

Three weeks in, three weeks with minimal issues, none game-breaking. 75ish hours of flight time, mostly free flight and mostly GA aircraft, but I have spent some time in career, photo, and challenges.

The game loads in about two minutes.

My HOTAS controls all mapped on day two (only got past the queue once on launch day and didn’t have my controls plugged in when I did, so i assumed I couldn’t map them and shut the game down then couldn’t get back in. It seems now that I was mistaken they are hot-swappable?) and have not disappeared since then.

I’ve had a few (four? five maybe?) crashes to desktop in the last three weeks, but my system is running at the ragged edge and is not entirely stable, so I can’t really contribute any of those directly to MSFS.

The terrain looks as I expect it to look. Photogrammetry in cities and such can be sketchy, just as it is in 2020. Generally, it’s gorgeous though.

Yes, I encounter bugs. But, as I said above, nothing game-breaking for me. The Pilatus 24 parking brake lever doesn’t animate correctly in the cockpit? The Seastar doesn’t have a mappable command to activate the water thrusters? I don’t LIKE to use the mouse in the cockpit, but I can if I need to. There’s a tree in the middle of the taxiway in my career mission? Janky, but that’s the unfortunate result of having access to pretty much every airfield on Earth, most of which are built by AI that’s not perfect. I can go around.

So, yes, MSFS2024 works for me well enough that I can’t envision ever loading 2020 again.
