Does MSFS2024 actually work for anyone?

It works but it’s an absolute bug fest, spotty visuals and further compounded by poor performance.

Working for me today pretty well. Blurry bad textures still occur but they’re gone in a second upon loading. Ideally never should be there tho

The old FS20 problem with Slew mode x and y axis translate being too fast and too coarse is still with us (I was hoping they would fix this but alas, no). The only way I’ve found to get small, slow translation movements in Slew mode is to bind the Joystick X and Z axes to the X and Z axis Slew Modes. It works, kind of, but on less expensive joysticks with potentiometer motion sensors, it’s twitchy. Better quality joysticks with Hall effect / magnetic sensors might work more smoothly, but this is still a less than desirable way to control slewing. There needs to be keybindings for Slew Translate Forward/Backward/Left/Right (SLOW), same as there are for Up and Down. If anyone knows of another workaround to get slow, fine translation movements in Slew Mode, let me know.

Is there a GA plane with a working autopilot that will follow the loaded flight path and hit the waypoints? It’s not the C172.

Thanks! You’re correct, it’s the parking brake keybind. The balloon is fun, but I’ll have experiment more with it. I ran out of propane when the fuel display still said 45%. The pressure gauges on the 4 tanks and the burner header are all non-functional, so they’re no help to try and figure out why I ran out. All four tank valves were open. Maybe the propane got too cold at the highest altitude during the flight and there was a freeze-up in the fuel lines?

I have managed to get the C172 to follow a route planned in Little Navmap - followed Waypoints and ILS settings and while using autopilot.

Does Little Nav Map export to 2024 now? Did you use the EFB?

Little Nav Map connects to MSFS 2024 and sends the data and you can track your flight. The only thing that doesn’t work yet is importing the scenery library so you still need to use the one from 2020.

I’ll be trying that this afternoon. Thanks.

Loaded FS 2024---- Load time 5 mins.
Selected Heli HP-135
Set Flight Plan-KUU to KCQX
Weather live, Multiplayer set to All.
I am confused why Start flight is greyed out???
See below…

What did you set the flight plan in, the EFB or the free flight selection screen?

Free Flight Section.
I think I just found what it is.
Will not let me select Heli Pad for Departure. (Odd)
I picked active runway and bingo.
Thanks for replying.

Looks like it will work in heading mode. It never made a turn on its own in Nav mode. It did load the flight plan in, so that’s an important step. Thanks.

And the patch had fixed the autopilot when I loaded it up this morning. Baby steps, but we’re making progress.

So why is the axis of the Velocity One pedals not even recognized by the simulator?, in MSFS2020 at least that worked

Seems to work fine for me Velocity One Yoke and rudder pedals.

Please @BinaryFiddle Could you guide me on how you mapped the differential brakes? … in my case it doesn’t even recognize axes 13 and 14 that correspond to it

Go into the V1 yoke menu and disable the pedals under Accessories and then reenable them again. If that doesn’t work, reboot the Xbox. My brakes disappear sometimes too

AS @TheM00ps mentioned, this has also happened to me a couple of times. If you are on XBox like me I found closing the simulator, a hard reset of the Xbox, a restart of the TB hardware will usually help. In certain cases I have had to do this a couple of times. Be sure the rudder pedals are activated in the TB settings. Fortunately once connection is established to the brakes it maintains the settings for a long time.
