6 hours of getting absolutely nowhere except staring at the stupid ‘Connect to XBox’ screen, with its progress bar forever stuck at 0%. I don’t even own an XBox (and yes I know it’s because it’s a Microsoft game, duh). I’ve had enough so am calling it a night. When I can try again after work tomorow night, I really hope the situation has dramatically improved.
I mean, am I just better off closing this stupid loader for now or am I in an actual queue? A timer or position in queue would alleviate some of the stress.
My advice to everyone is for the sake of your own sanity just come back to it tomorrow. They clearly know there are issues and are no doubt working hard to fix things. The one and only time this evening I got beyond the now fabled loading screen of certain doom it then wouldn’t load the world map and just froze.
Its a mess. At the back of my mind I thought this might not be a clean launch. Its all very frustrating.
I’ve been surfing YT and of about a dozen FS2024 streams 3 had some form of access to the sim, the rest were all at some % of a loading screen, so my guess is that streamers are no better off than we are. It is possible that some streamers may have some sort of privileged status but my guess is that they don’t, it’s just luck of the draw…
On PC… Actually my download and installation went quite well. Game booted up and I had a look around. Only one plane and one helicopter was available. Did a quick flight around Toronto and noticed the downtown area was a melted nuclear waste (hopefully that is because of server issues). Then exited and tried to start the game again… Been in queue since then.
Oh well… will give it a shot tomorrow and hopefully by then everything has settled down.
The most pathetic, completely f…ed up roll out EVER. Nothing is working, maybe 1% of users get at least to a logon screen. I requested a refund for this POS software and is Steam refuses that, will go through my credit card company for internet fraud. This is just absolutely unbelievable - what an amazing level of complete incompetence!
I’ve always just walked back to the aircraft and clicked the handle, but I think there surely is a keybind to enter the aircraft regardless of how far you are from it.
Thanks for the reply. Sigh, I’m more mad at myself. Kept away from pre-ordering until yesterday thinking “Well, with how big this is going to be surely Microsoft has this sorted”. LOL.
