Does anyone know, is there a place on these forums for classified ads or to advertise flight sim items for sale? I suppose I could use a more generalized marketplace but would prefer to sell to simmers who are familiar with the hardware.

Unfortunately, this forum isn’t setup for classified ads. As this forum is owned by Microsoft, running a classified section would cause some responsibility and liability for Microsoft.
Advertising and 3rd Party Addons
This forum is not to be used for any non-MSFS related businesses, organizations, or websites. The selling of personally-owned used products (such as selling an old peripheral) is not allowed on the forums.
It is something that has been brought up for the MSFS Discord server, but still being reviewed.

It doesn’t, but you can apply for a Third Party Dev role to “advertise” releases for your products in 3rd Party Product Announcements.

Note you can only “advertise” Addons here, not ads for general stuff…only posting releases of products.
This is mainly as the “social platforms” are for discussions of the sim and not promoting stuff 
(Addons are the exception)

Nope, that counts towards soliciting. It’s also against the rules.
Never used this site but it looks like an option.
Facebook Marketplace. It makes much more sense, since people from all over the world are in this forum and shipments would be more expensive than the peripherals most of the times.
