Let me tell you how to have fun. After decades using FS, I say they finally got it right. My latest flight. Virgin Atlantic flight 104, KATL to EGLL, Asobo B787 with reversed mirroring issue on all logos. NP. Spent 1.5 hrs, yes I spent 1.5 hrs B4 I gave up trying VR but after 5 CTD’s, I gave up. Of course, CTD’s occurred after complete course setup. VR had been working fine B4 at 50 FPS GTX 3070, G2 Reverb. NP. Got to take off finally IFR, Plane did 1.5 pylon turns after engaging AP B4 it decided to follow NAV. ATC kept ignoring ALT increase. They were busy with the one other aircraft there. My bad, I set traffic at 100%. Still, Fun, fun, fun! At altitude 40000, I decide to sleep till I get to Heathrow cause so much fun wore me out. Woke up on time for decent. NP. Glad to see no CTD but I was no longer connected with Bing. NP. ATC gave me plenty of time to admire clouds at altitude B4 eventually bringing me down. There was too much realistic fighter aircraft traffic trying to land there ahead of me. Must have had a convention or fly in. Finally got to ALT 2500, 1.5 miles from ILS 27R, I made it but we’re out of vomit bags for passengers, NP. Autopilot had given out at 28000 anyway but wouldn’t fully disengaged enough for me to ride it manually running ALT and HDG and speed, so I just flew it in. Desktop is harder than VR thru overcast. NP. The piece de resistance was that after a rushed landing to avoid an hour of missed approach vectoring, the gate I programmed for arrival at Heathrow was not there, nope/ some fighter jock stole it I guess because the Airport was chuck full of them at all the gates. What realism,cool! Well rather than ramp parking where ATC ground directed by the dumpsters over in the Cargo area, after I asked for “Taxi to Gates”, I just stole a spot between two fighters with Rock star liveries. Sure, I had to suffer the humiliation of my radio xmission being heard, “Sorry, we don’t know where the baggage is” etc… NP. Still, my passengers got a workout when they were forced to jump 10 feet, the jetway after my perfect un-marshalled nose wheel on line park job. The Jetway didn’t fully extend and connect. Wow, that’s good for payware. So you see, you follow in my footsteps and you are going to have a great and realistic flight. BTW, I left out some events but you got the jist. Right? I can’t wait to see if VR is working again today so that I might get this taste out of my mouth. One thing I can say with authority. There’s so much talk about inconsistent operation. Asobo IMO has created almost perfect consistancy. It’s most often Cr@&&y.
I turned my stereo up to ten, it distorted the music and hurt my ears, go figure.
My head hurts now…
