I have installed FlightSimulator 2020 (microsoft store edition) on a separate disk (F) everything works fine without any problems, but I have also discovered that on (C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\ ) exactly the same folders and content is installed, this is double, is this okay or not okay? does this mean that the F disk is useless, if so I better install flight sim on C.
When you go to the C: location, do you see these icons?
Those little arrows in the corner of the folder icon means it’s a symbolic link (or shortcut) to the real location.
This confused me as well, especially when installing the last patch. It wanted to install it on C: with 900 GB free, but my C: is a 256 GB SSD with 100 GB free. I guess it installs to the user appdata folder no matter what, but the symbolic links make sure it’s in the right place.
yes, thank you, now I get it, It was the same with me
