Download does not work - Insufficient hard drive space (Unzureichender Festplattenspeicher)

Have to download a lot of updates. But even with small files i get the error insufficient free space on drive (Unzureichender Festplattenspeicher) but have 588 GB free on C. Whats wrong?

Based on the screenshot, it shows that the available free space is 115GB, not 588GB.

It looks that way. But this information is incorrect. I have no idea how FlightSimulator calculates this. The flight simulator is actually installed on G, but the drive to be changed in the dialog box is C. Even with a 15 KB update, it says there isn’t enough space.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the launcher should be installed on the C drive by default.
You installed it on the G drive, where you only have 112GB of free space - that’s why you can’t download and install World Updates … Even if it’s just a tiny 15 KB update, the installer still checks the target drive for available space before proceeding.

On your C drive, you only have symbolic links. The actual MSFS installation is located on the G drive, and that’s the drive the system also is using for space validation. That’s why it’s failing.

EDIT

A full installation of MSFS 2024, with everything downloaded and installed, takes around 440GB.

So if you want to download and install the complete package, you should realistically have about 500 GB of free space on the G drive. Otherwise, you’re going to keep running into space issues during updates or content downloads.
And on top of that - your G drive is too small for this - it only has about 430GB total capacity. Even if it were completely empty, it wouldn’t be enough for a full MSFS installation.

Need to download everything. I have 100 Mbit, which should be enough for streaming. I’ve now reinstalled everything. That’s quick. Thanks again.
