Basically, the title says for itself. I was updating MSFS, and my download is stuck in neverending loop, whilst trying to download “pc-base-bigfiles-0.1.142.fspackage”. I seriously don’t know how to fix it. Tried to uninstall mods(they were actually uninstalled, when I had first encountered this proble), tried to re-download main game(first 1.6-7 GB, not going to re-download entire 80 gigabytes, lol), but nothing works. I sincerely hope that Asobo will fix this bug ASAP, because nothing similar had happened with me with previous updates

Try quitting out and restart the sim. I was stuck at 5.13 / 5.25 GB and it would keep failing at decompressing these files and restart at the 3.3 GB mark. Quitting and restarting the sim modified the download size to 9.9 GB and it successfully finished.
Tried to quit, and starting again for dozzens of time - and it had not even once tried to compress/decompress it, really desperate now
Some change was when it had once downloaded as separate files, and uncompressed WinRar archive, now I’m trying to reinstall whole “fs-base” files once again, and see, if something will change, probably will write tommorow about the results
I had the problem on Arlanda airport. Currently downloading each component separately via the Content Manager.
I had tried to move original “Community” location, and change it with new one, but that doesn’t seem to work. It resets whilst downloading the same “pc-base-bigfiles-0.1.142.fspackage” file
One trick is to note the file, stop the sim - locate the file, delete it, restart. Sometimes that will clear the download or decompress problem.
So, I’ve did a little bit deeper dive into this problem, by searching the name of that ■■■■ file that I’ve tried to find. AND, surprisingly, this mistake was NOT new. It dates to the very August of 2020. And here’s the link to the thread with actual slavation(still hadn’t downloaded it complitely, but the progress is way bigger, than on any other failed attempt) So, I had to manually slow the internet connection to 5 Mbit’s(not Mb’s,Mbit’s) via NetLimiter 4, and disable automatic internet speed preferences via command prompt. Props to all the people, who tried to help. And also, it’s almost hilarious how good AND bad MSFS 2020 can be in the terms of it’s technical part. How amazing is the entire world here, and how complicated it is, the live weather tracking, and etc., but also, how flawed this game is, with it’s memory leaks, slow downloading speed, and, well, ‘this’ bug, or error, whatever it is. Gonna set this as solved when download the whole update
Funny… I had exactly the same problem. Down to the gigabyte… so this is probably not just random…
It’s really not. Try that method from forum(there are actually ways of solution for several situations, but first one worked for me just fine)
I was responding to CasualClick. His (or her) description (and the solution) were exactly what happened with me too. It was almost there… then back to 3.3 gigabyte. Closing the sim, then restarting, downloading 9.9 gigabyte, and it worked.
So I have it running thanks (including the 2 hours of troubleshooting why the update wasn’t showing in the store).
And I’m not even that interested in Scandinavia… hours wasted… oh well…
MODERATOR EDIT:
HelloI will have a small question, is it normal that there is a shift of 90GB for this? knowing that I have already put the shift of the world 5? why does it take up so much space?
thank you for answering me.
Bonjour,
j’aurai une petite question, est-ce que c’est normal qu’il y a une maj de 90Go pour cela ? sachant que j’ai déjà mis la maj du monde 5 ? pourquoi cela prend autant de place ?
merci de bien vouloir me répondre.
