Last night’s (16/02/21) update has made it even more notice-able, but now I seem to be getting dreadful performance on anything with an “electric” pfd display…am getting around 10-15fps inside views, (outside are around 25-30fps) performance even struggling with the megapack A321 which prior to last night was the best performing airliner FPS wise I had in my fleet. Props with traditional displays run great 35-40fps and similar with outside views. I have tried changing the cockpit refresh rate within the sim, with NO change notice-able. There was a mention of changing one of the JSON files prior to asobo introducing the refresh rate graphics option. with this having such little effect I wonder if its worth a try?
I have the same issue … Last night I had to install the latest update which was a huge update, Around 30GB of data including UK and Ireland scenery . FPS drop down extremely noticeable change in performance.
Since I installed FS 2020 two months ago, the FPS rate was perfect with my “Nvidia 3060ti” on my “32Gb Asrock AMD Ryzen 5 5600X” Motherboard… Now I must say I am disappointed.
After every update, but especially one where there have been global graphics adjustments, clouds, vsync, etc., it will be necessary to make some adjustments to your graphics settings to again dial in the sweet spot. Once that is done go back and fly the same are that was giving you problems and test. If that is in the UK the photogrammetry additions may be the cause. Try an area that was not included in the update where you know you were getting good results before.
@willisxdc I tested an area out that I had been to before with Good performance and still was really disappointed. SO this then made do research on if I could locate a “mod” which changes around the screen refresh rates as the built in one despite turning the option down to low from medium actually seemed to make the performance worse, leading me to believe the coding had been broken in recent updates, with Medium being best suited to my “rig”. I have located the following which i really like as you can easily install (or remove) as it drops straight into the community folder. Lower 2d Refresh Rate Mod (FPS Increase)
Initial experimentations on Thursday night have brought about a massive improvement for me, and what also more, is that when you select the aircraft from the MAP menu there is an now an additional menu option called (I think) fps, in which you can alter the chosen refresh rate for each aircraft - Althoough I still have to see what the net effect of choosing each option does to the heaviest of FPS aircraft. Despite that early signs are extremely pleasing (for me)
