Well last night I uninstalled MSFS on my HDD in order to reinstall on my SSD (to see whether it would help stutters), left it downloading overnight and then suprise, the installer was stuck at “please wait” with nothing downloaded! Getting tired now of all these problems and bugs. Will now continue flying in P3D with a stable FPS (and detailed aircraft) until MS release further updates! Judging by the reviews on Microsoft Store I am not the only one.
What annoys me the most is that Microsoft did not give the release version to alpha testers!
I doubt it’s HDD related. I observed no disk activity in task manager nwhen this happens. I’ve got 32GB and it’s all buffered when I restart flight no disk is used to load anything.
I’m really hoping they’re working on it. Would be great if they acknowledged it, so we knew they are or will be working on it
I’ve had stuttering/lag issues as well. I’ve submitted a request, was wondering if they get back to everyone or if I’m kinda on my own for this?
Yeah I wish I hadn’t uninstalled MSFS now!
Yeah we all should send the tickets so they give it the importance it deserves.
Well I hope you don’t get the same response as me (the standard 9 step reply). They even changed the ticket to solved, when the problem clearly isn’t fixed.
Hope not. I have been having performance issues with the sim and when I start it says that I don’t meet the minimum requirements. However my specs are AMD Ryzen 5, HyperX Fury 16GB, Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB GDDR6 Seagate M.2 510GB SSD + Seagate Sata 1TB SSD. (Windows 10 is also up to date and my WiFi’s is roughly 35Mbs) I don’t expect to be able to run the sim at high/ultra level but I think it should be able to handle medium and especially low settings without stuttering. So I don’t know why it says that
That’s funny my system is much older than yours and it suggests high settings.
Yea I have no idea, does it seem ok to you?
I totally agree. I did it already in the morning.
I meet the minimum specs in terms of my CPU + have 800Mhz clock more to minimum. It’s the 4 cores which makes it a bit too low. But with that I’d expect to have a playable game at low or medium settings but it’s not the case. Graphic settings’ changes do not improve this.
And what is interesting: the game suggested to me to run it with High-end settings (maybe because of GPU RTX2070S, but this would mean a CPU should not matter that much, but it really does, maybe more than a GPU)
Did some benchmarks 1920x1080, on RWY25C ready for departure after having set a flight from EDDF to LFPG high airways.
Note that I have the exact same performance at 4K 80% rendering scale and I have around 45 fps with the TBM other NYC fully cloudy, clouds on ULTRA.
I understand that airliners are more complex aircrafts but something is weird with the Dreamliner.
do those differences compare to what you experience please ?
guys, it’s the first days, let’s see next patch, they are for sure working on it. But I’m sure they will fix this soon
Yup just that I’m 10 FPS slower
Does anybody know if they reply to all the requests?
I rolled back from the latest 452.06 driver to the 451.77 Studio driver I used during beta. Performance is a little better, somewhat less stuttering than before. I have not yet seen a long pause where GPU utilization drops to zero, but I have only flown a few miles for the initial test.
CPU utilization is still very high almost constantly. In beta, I would occasionally see CPU go to 100 percent, especially when working with the autopilot controls or FMS, but now it is almost always near, or at 100 percent. The GPU is very definitely being under utilized. I have not seen GPU use go above 65 percent, while in the beta, it was often near 100 percent.
Definitely seems that the release version is more CPU-bound than the beta was.
I normally run with hyper threading off, because my “other” sim (Prepar3D), performs very poorly with HT enabled on my system - despite using an HT affinity mask. I am going to try HT on to see if it helps MSFS performance. The release version is clearly using CPU resources differently than the beta did.
I have 10fps less with HyperThreading OFF.
WHQL or Studio?
WHQL. what is the difference with studio please ? I see the 2 options but I just do not know… thanks
WHQL is the normal driver release everyone should have. ST or studio is aimed less at gaming and is tuned for video rendering and high profile simulations.
Clear !! Which one do you recommend for MSFS2020 please ?
