Drop in FPS with 1.20.6.0

Hello,
Without no changes in my settings I observed a big drop in the FPS : 30 instead of 60. The result is the same with A320 and nemeth 103. My config is (i9 9900KF, 32 GB ram and RTX 3070). It’s why I’m a bit surprised.

Thank you very much for an explanation.
Best regards

Do you think it might be the case that you have enabled v-sync and lock the FPS to 30 ?

From my observation after WU or SU, some configurations are changed in the settings.

Hello,
Thank you for answering. If these settings were modified it is not from me. To verify the activated options I launched again MSFS and I was surprised to be asked for another update of 1.73 GB. After it has been completed MSFS was continuing to the page “New Activities”. This page was displayed about 1 mn or 2 and then a CTD.

I restarted the computer and again a CTD at the same page. FPS was still indicating about 32. I don’t know what to do.
Thank you for helping.

Have read…

Hello,
My problem is now a little bit different as I can’t use MSFS because of a CTD during the launching phase (I have recorded the screen). I tried to open a ticket with zendesk and it seems to be not possible. Why ?
Perhaps an idea when watching the small 2 mn video.
Thank you very much.

The Fps have dropped considerably, it is exasperating to go down to 13 Fps in large airports when before the update it did not drop below 35 fps

Hello,
My problem of CTD while launching was solved by initializing MSFS. Nevertheless I had to download again about 9 GB of data.

The initial problem (drop in FPS) was also solved by changing the “anisotropic filtering” field from 8X to 4X. This value of 8X was automatically assigned by MSFS (or GeForce I don’t know).

I hope the problem will not appear again.

Best regards

Hello, after updating I had exactly the same problem, it did not go above 30 fps in any situation, before it could reach 50 - 60 fps, after investigating, I have solved it by entering the NVIDIA control panel and removing the lock fps. then I went back to the simulator and I was already opting for the same fps. that previously, after this, you can go back into the NVIDIA control panel and set the fps lock values again.

I hope this can help you.

Yep, I’ve seen significant fps drops since the latest update, with settings exactly the same as they were before, including terrain LOD at 200

I agree, while still playable for me, FPS have definitely decreased with SU6.
At least they are less stable than they were before. I would get a steady 55 to 60 before the update, and now they easily drop into the 40’s. At larger Airports I taxi at around 30 FPS, while before the update, I would get above 40 and into the 50’s.

As long as it is above 25FP then you musn’t complain.

You’re never going to enjoy the sim if you all you do is concentrate on FPS. 60fps is smooth, but this number is mainly for FPS games. 30fps is solid for flying. However if you are bothered by it, you will never be able to enjoy the sim’s true intention and message.

Hello,
After having set “anisotropic filtering” to 4X instead of 8X FPS are again very stable around 55-60. I guess you have an explanation why the change of only this parameter was so important to solve this problem.
Best regards

PS Sorry if my question is a stupid one but I’m not a specialist.
