Hi fellas. I’m having an issue that I can’t figure out because Microsoft is so protective over their files. Either that or it’s a really simple situation that I just haven’t figured out a way around yet.
To start with I have 2 OSs…Windows 11(C-drive) and Windows 10(D-drive). I install all my games on a separate drive(G-drive). I would like to be able to point Gamepass to that G-drive so I can play my FS2020 when I’m logged in to either drive. Right now I installed FS2020 when I was logged into Windows 11 and it works great. My problem started when I logged in to Windows 10. I pointed Gamepass install options to the same games drive I use on Windows 11 (G-drive) but instead of just finding the already existing installation of FS2020 Gamepass installed a brand new folder and and brand new installation of FS2020 on that same drive(G-drive). So now I have 2 separate installations of FS2020 taking up copious amounts of hard drive space, when realistically I only need one installation. Is this even possible? If it is how do I go about doing it?
The reason I would like this to work is because I am weary of having to restart my PC all the time. Having to do that can be hard on the components and can shorten nvme drive life. All that just to play a game that should be accessible from 2 OSs(same PC/dual boot). I also have Steam and it’s easy as pie to do this same thing on that platform. Thanks to anyone that can help
Come on peeps. No one out here has a dual boot system that’s ran into this issue? I really need some help. This is frustrating to say the least.
