Because that is the main thread the Mods are tracking for issues after the update as per the person that posted before you.
I feel better knowing I am not alone. My Fénix A320 is jumpy when making inputs with the TCA Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick. It even pulled a hard rollover on a medium sidestick roll input. The sensitivity settings appear unchanged, but the simulator performance is out of control. New to MSFS; does this happen after every update?
can i join this reset of my controller bindings club some of my controller profiles have gone down the pan ![]()
so what do we now then do to fix this with controller profiles? i got a few that are now reset to default but not all of them
I have not opened MSFS in the last 48 hours and now I don’t want to until I know this is fixed…is it possible for me to find and save my profile settings and then update them after the update? Should I just wait for a couple days and see if they fix the update? (will hate this option as I wanted to fly tonight!)
Hopefully, this issue has been addressed. Maybe some others can comment, but I looked at 2 of my profiles for today’s flights and they both appear as they should.
Yes back up the wgs folder. I did it last night, did the mandatory upgrade, did not install the dune addon.
I went into my control settings and it was messed up, wouldn’t let me select some of my profiles, they wouldn’t load. I was careful not to save anything, I exited and restarted MSFS and then it was all OK again.
I wonder if people whose controls get broken saved something on the initial run? You don’t need to change any bindings, just select a different profile will cause a save.
Anyway back to the wgs backup, here’s a good post on how to do this:
That’s awful.
Makes me grateful I have SPAD, which means I have no controller bindings in the sim itself.
I know that doesn’t help. ![]()
I’m in the same situation as you, but I’d still be screwed if my empty MSFS profile was suddenly populated with defaults… I’m going to wait a week before I update my MSFS; hopefully that’ll give them time to fix this.
after dune update throttle no longer work with button, tried to remap it. it was fine before the dune update. not sure whats going on, tried to swap back and forth
I just had an idea. I know the sim won’t see your controllers, or profiles, if your physical hardware is disconnected.
So I wonder what happens if you update the sim with nothing but a keyboard, and mouse plugged in, and once it has you shut it down, plug everything in again, the relaunch the sim.
It can’t break the profiles if they aren’t even loaded. Maybe?
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I actually did the same thing as you last night. I started the sim and made sure I disconnected my peripherals just in case that might have something to do with it. Went to my control settings and got the “Loading” message, waited about 5 minutes and it never actually loaded anything, so I backed out of the menu, and restarted the sim. After I restarted all seemed to be OK, reconnected the yoke, throttle, etc and all of the key bindings for me were OK. Loaded into the PMDG 737-800 for a quick flight and noticed a couple weird things about that which not sure were related like the flight tablet not loading correctly, etc. In any case, what a mess of an update.
Didn’t see your post until this morning, but would have felt much better with the settings backed up as you shared - thank you for that.
It would be nice if with an update Asobo would make the new profiles editable and deleteable. And if the new profiles were not automatically assigned (maybe optional).
The new profiles are in the cloud, so it’s not possible to edit them in the wgs folder.
do we now if this is going to get fixed any time soon
Actually you can if you don’t mind messing around with XML files, as they are plain text.
I used to have to do this with my throttles. The sim would not allow me to set 61 for Neutral on one of the axes. 59, 60, and 62 would save but not 61.
I closed the sim, edited the file, relaunched the sim, and 61 was in the GUI. It would persist as long as I didn’t try to edit the controller in the sim.
Perhaps that bug was fixed.
What I meant was that because the files for the Thopter are in the cloud they are not physically present locally. That’s why they cannot be edited.
Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, that seems a bit backward. Why for that specifically? The Darkstar isn’t the same, is it?
I never used the darkstar. But when looking through all the files in the wgs folder in search for Thopter profiles I didn’t see any for the Darkstar.
I don’t think you would see one, just like I wouldn’t see one for the 172 specifically. I have a single profile, one each for both my Yoko+, and my TQ6+, that I use for all planes.
Does the Orni have some specific controls that require a profile for it. It sounds like a per plane config, which is what many have been asking for, with then only way to do that currently using an external program like SPAD.
The joystick profile for the Thopter has
“(Ornithopter)” in its name. The name is in the .xml file. There was no .xml file with such a name in the wgs folder.
