Major problems with Apron Textures with this new update.
Any duplication more than once ends with a failed build
It´s a shame isn´t it? It took me some hours to find out why my project won´t load or build the package. The thing is, it worked before I updated the SDK version, which was meant to tackle crashes and now I need to redo all the custom markings without duplicating the aprons.
I really hope for a fix, I´m not quite motivated to remake custom markings without the ability to duplicate objects…
Btw, are you sure the problem occurs with more than one duplication? I think there is some kind of higher limit, as some aprons I duplicated multiple times are still in the scenery and are not causing any issues.
Im going to go in and see if renaming works for duplicated apron textures.
The thing that gets me is that quite often the package will build. Then if you restart and load the package it would fail…
and even more annoying it would build and then fail after you’ve done some more unrelated things in the SDK on the 2nd run.
Then i would have to go back over all the saved packages that i back up after every session, hunting down and losing work until finally i reach the problem-- duplicates.
I’m not sure but i may have duplicated duplicates in a new session, so will find a Copy Copy Copyx10
Rename it, then duplicate and rename them, to see if that clears the problem
Renaming sounds like a good idea. Would be cool, if you let me know if that works.
Did you have any problems loading the project or just building the package?
At least in my case the sim would ctd when loading the bgl, so I needed to remove most of the aprons by hand by deleting their respective lines in the XML.
I could always load the project but it would fail on build, compiler error. Or if i had alot of changes and a few duplicates it would crash on build, not Crash to desktop, just end program, MSFS encountered an error
Oh no, rename all the (copy) (copy) ones?
This shouldn’t have happened.
Only the aprons
Oh, with objects I’m getting duplicate GUID errors, when trying to build the package… All the copied ones. They’re the same object, from the same existing source. Renamed them all to the correct names, same same…
Sigh…

Error
SDK 0.11.0 now taxiway paths are not working, no textures or centreline
So we go back to SDK 9?
Installing the SDK is only the documents?
Any excessive amount of copying breaks projects now. I got it with painted lines and then aprons as well. It kills the project completely. You can’t even load it without a crash.
I had to go into the xml and manually remove everything with an excessive amount of copying before it would load without dying. It took rather a long time.
all assets that were copied in 0.9.0 were registered correctly as asset types after build. Now any copies are just left as copy copy copy. Even worse now is that New taxiway centrelines and lights are not rendered in any new taxiway paths. they only appear when the package is put in the community folder.
That makes for a really impossible situation for making new scenery. I’m just glad i have them all in
I still have copies of SDK 8 and 9 and 10 . I uninstalled SDK 11 and installed SDK 9 but it doesn’t work that way . We need that duplicate feature back ASAP . Too bad ! I am wondering if ASOBO knows what they are doing ?
I went back to 9 and reloaded my older version, thankfully hadn’t made that many changes yet. It works for me much better so it’s staying there for a while I guess…
Me too , I am using SDK 9 now . But the duplicate feature is not there anymore .
SDK 0.9.0 uses the older looking user interface. If you uninstall the SDK, its still exists. All you are doing is updating the documents and scenery examples
