Dust or blowing grass effects not seen

Considering all the videos showing propellers blowing dust around, and grass moving in reaction to propeller slip stream, I haven’t seen it at all after deliberately searching around, landing at off airport locations etc. I have seen water vapor blow out behind the prop, but never any of the effects on land.

I have my graphics settings maxed out and I don’t see it (RTX4070ti Super), has anyone seen these effects actually working? Is there an option somewhere I might have missed? Or does this only happen at certain locations in the world (which would be super lame).

Any thoughts?

I’ve seen dust but had not seen grass moving because I only fly in cockpit. So I just position a Cessna 414 engine in front of a small patch of grass. Yes. The grass moved in response to my engine power setting.

So, both work for me. But may be dependent on graphics settings of course. All mine are ultra.

One thing to be careful of is the “Dynamic Settings” option. That is great for removing stutters (I assume) but it may disable stuff depending on if it thinks your machine can handle it.

It was the first thing I disabled. But my machine is high end so it’s easy for me.

Ok, so it seems like its specific to the kind of grass, I moved the plane to italy on a nice grass strip, and there it works fine.

But in the grass I was finding in fields in the western US, no joy. So it seems like they apply that effect only to certain vegetation… Weird…

I’m still not seeing dust, but maybe the correct type of dirt only exists in Europe… heh…

EDIT
Found dust, Ok… I’m happy now, I’ll probably never see it again, as usually in cockpit, I just was starting to think maybe they disabled it at the last minute or something.

Thanks again.

Another disaster and another lie that was shown to us in the trailer. At least, if it only works in some areas of the world, they should have mentioned it, because if nothing is said, it is assumed that when the conditions for it are met, it will be seen.
Today, for example, I just changed the weather to rain on a dirt runway, expecting to see mud on the wheels when taxiing with the plane and not only has it not gotten dirty, neither the wheels nor the plane, but on the dirt ground there have hardly been any puddles and much less mud.
One of the strongest points of the simulator, compared to MSFS20, is supposed to be the visual additions, but it seems another point still unfinished.
This, together with the rest of the things that are being reported on the forums since the launch of the simulator, shows that the simulator is in a premature state of development compared to what was promised, announced and could be seen in the trailers.
I can understand that the software has some bugs and that there are things to improve, but it is very frustrating that so many things fail.
