Every time when you start the game, it asks you to put the DVD in the your DVD-device
How can I avoid this?
I cannot believe this also works with the download versions.
If you purchased on DVD and installed from them, it is the requirement and was indicated as such. I’ve not seen any other requests for DVD other than the install issues pertaining to region changes.
When I bought on the Microsoft store it came with a “Digital Ownership” that had to be downloaded and installed separately. Maybe this is what you are missing?

DVD user may although have the “Digital Ownership”.
Nevertheless, every start the DVD is needed. Stupid
Maybe someone will figure a way to create a .exe that doesn’t need dvd check.
I have the same “issue”. This is in 2020 extremely disappointing. Feels like the late 90s :).
I hope that MS will release a patch at some point to remove this check. Why is it needed when the license is attached to my account anyway?

You can create avirtual DVD it works. I hope MS will not block this solution.

Had same issue today. Disabled the Bitdefender Firewall and everything worked smooth. I believe they are working on a patch for this.
This thread is not talking about the bug at launch. This is the case where people who bought the DVD set were not aware that they would have to insert the DVD every time they want to launch the sim.
Same on my side. Every time I start the simulator a dvd check is necessary. That is totally annoying. After hours of installing 10 dvds another 16GB Updates. After first start I found that MS Sidefinder Joystick is recognized but without any bindings. So you have to manually configure it before it is usuable.
Bur now it is after midnight, so this will be done next day. Hopefully can that be done easily without any bugs. After a first short flight with keyboard and mouse I was impressed about the detailed landscape and cities.
Please fix the DVD check asap, it is really annoying.
Same here. Constantly put the dvd in the drive! Come on MS it is 2020! Please patch!
Make an ISO of the DVD and mount it. That way you can put the original DVD back in the box and don’t worry about it anymore

i wouldn´t mind if i had an internal drive but with the external drive i need now an usb splitter…

You can download ImgBurn to make the ISO of disc one.
After completion, install Deam Tools and mount the image to a virtual drive.
Using a image is something of the past. I to would like to see a patch for this.
