DX 12 Now?

Had to leave my computer downloading all night, due to MSFS apparently initiating a fresh install. I can’t even remember how many gigabytes it said it was installing. More than 200 I think.

Anyway, to the question—Are we now seeing DX 12, or no? Still waiting? If it’s implemented, is it showing any improvements on CPU usage, graphics details? Ray-tracing, any of those goodies people have been speculating about? Inquiring minds (mine at least) want to know. I promise, I’m not being snarky, I really want to know where the sim stands in relation to implementation of DX 12.

Still waiting on DX12, but there are tons of optimizations regardless.
My short A320 benchmark I’ve been running since release went from 61 fps to 90 fps average – around 100-110 fps at cruise! Cessna 152 at KJFK moved from 70-ish to 90-95.

Any decline in photogrammetry details or LOD? Upon close inspection?

I manually set LOD to 9.0 in the useropt.cfg and it didn’t touch 10GB of ram or vram. In 4K over nyc everything ultra was hitting 37fps at that insane LOD. No more melted buildings.

Good to hear, is the draw distance any better?
Is the New York skyline showing up any further than newark?

DX12 for PC is planned for release later this year. Probably SU6 or SU7
