Have you still got Bloom turned on? I still get the flashes with Bloom
Yes I have bloom turned on.
If you have your GPU overclocked or underclocked try putting it back to its original settings, reboot and retry the sim. I can only OC my GPU so far and then I start to get the screen flashes.
I think it may triggered by the sun reflecting off certain objects into the camera and temporarily fully white-out the screen. If this is correct then observing it is dependent on weather conditions and other things like proximity to these reflective surfaces. I have not noticed it so much recently though so perhaps it has be been fixed/improved
Nope. It still happens at night. Definitely a bug.
As the vid shows
Interesting, thanks
Iāve even been noticing screen flashes on my laptop sometimes after MSFS is closed, is this a residual effect from MSFS that is affecting my graphics?
Total computer noob, but I think I had the same problem. I turned Frame Rate Limit in graphics to 50%, and it went away like magic. From 100%
No, you may have a different problem. A way to test is to put msfs into windowed mode, make the window smaller than your screen (making sure you are using dx12) and see whether only the sim window flashes or the whole screen.
The flashing was also occurring even after MSFS had been closed which made me think of some sort of residual issue.
Is there any information that this bug is beeing tracked? I hope it is on the bug list for the developers, because it is now existing for a while and really annoying.
Noticed this tonight chasing the sunset heading out to the west coast of the US. Flashing was pretty constant. I am on a 4080 card with DX12 and frame generation using a G-Sync at 120Hz with TAA, and Vsync off.. Thought is was something on my end but looks like a bug with Bloom and DX12. Guess Iāll have to forgo Bloom once the sun starts setting. Odd that last week before my new build I was not seeing this while on a 3090 with DX12 and DLSS and VSync on but now have it with DX12, Frame Generation and TAA.
I fixed that by using ULTRA preset on DX12.. Check that out - unfortunately you cannot change any option on DX12 or it will start to flash (motion blur etc remains on). Basically you cannot have CUSTOM preset⦠(as far as I rember I have lowered TLOD only).
Thereās another problem with DX12 as it causes weird artifacts on airpors - especially on locations when snowy weather occurs. No fix for that unfortunately.
every time I log into a new update there is a new problem. Iām getting real tired of this.
Turned off DX12 and screen flashing goes away.
I didnāt try the ULTRA preset.

Still no fix for the white flashes with bloom and DX12. Amazing.
In MSFS Graphics settings, there is a setting called āAMD FidelityFX Sharpeningā.
If you have set this to zero, try setting this back to default value and check if you still have the flashing in DX12.
The solution is to turn off Bloom if you are using DX12. It is disappointing they havenāt addressed this but they may not even know about it
I tried the Ultra preset by default and afterwards tweaked a few settings during flight and⦠no more flashes.
Itās a possible workaround until the issue is fixed. Or of course you could turn Bloom off.
Does anyone still have these flashes in the middle of July 2023? I do. Itās disappointing that I spend half the time trying to fix it and the other half the time flying. ![]()
Very worrying random white flashes suddenly evident in my Reverb G2 since SU13 resulted in much wasted time trying to diagnose the problem.
Suspected my replacement Reverb was faulty.
Seems SU13 may have set DX12 and bloom on as I have previously had no interest in DX12 and pretty certain I had bloom set to off.
Huge relief to find the problem gone and will be checking my config following future updates.
