DXGI error and ctd when trying to play in VR

Specs: i9-10900k, RTX 3080, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, game installed on NVME SSD, Gigabit connection. VR headset: Quest 3, streaming via Virtual Desktop, VDXR, H.264

Whenever I try to swap to VR the game crashes and gives me DXGI error (Device hung).

I tried: rolling back the driver, underclocking my GPU’s clock and memory, various graphics settings, etc. Basically everything that was suggested in the MSFS 2020 DXGI error thread, but nothing helps.

The only thing that works somewhat is setting DLSS to performance and then the entire image turns to ■■■■.

Since this game supposedly runs better than MSFS 2020 and I can play that just fine in VR I am stunned as to why I can literally not play this game in VR at all.

If anybody has any ideas for a fix let me know. Maybe it’s not a me issue but a bug? Thanks for any help.

Same issue here. Using Pimax Crystal.

This is the report I’m seeing when switching VR Graphics Mode

Make sure you don’t have OpenXR toolkit running/installed.

why is that? it was pretty much mandatory for 2020 so why not in this game? please let mke know

openxr toolkit was never made to run on DX12 per Mbucchia. People are running it. some without issue. I got the same CTD DXGI without openXr Toolkit so I doubt it is the reason.

Same here.

Has anyone got a solution to this. Never had the problem in over 200 hrs of FS2024 including in SU1.
Installed SU2 yesterday and now this occurs continuously, mostly about after 4 - 5 minutes in VR. Really annoying. Appreciate any suggestions.

Rolled back the driver and reduced all my graphics settings without any improvement.

Same exact problem! Crashes in 2D and VR after about 5-10 mins. I’ve tried everything from rolling back NVidia drivers to uninstalling/reinstalling 2024 and nothing seems to make a difference!
The sim is currently unusable for me! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:
