Dynamic Graphics Settings: Expose TLOD/OLOD/Clouds/etc via Simconnect L:vars

We’re still looking at feedback from players in this regard, and I don’t believe a decision has been made currently as to its exact implementation.

Thanks

Awesome! Well as of this moment, there’s at least 227 people who want more than just a checkbox and a slider. Thanks for considering it!!

Agree of course!

It was confirmed that MSFS2024 includes an auto fps style function built in.

Yep, 2024 alpha had it.
It would be nice to have it into 2020 as well

And it looked like it was a one checkbox and FPS slider fits all solution. That’s what I’ve been afraid of. I didn’t try the alpha, so maybe it works great. But I’m skeptical… until we see it in the wild.

I set mine to 50. That is smooth enough that I don’t notice it with my head tracker. It felt very smooth, even when looking left or right, so you have the most delta.

My feedback: without the notorious app that would require this, I wouldn’t be able to fly in MSFS 2024.
MSFS Dynamic Settings are almost useless, and the 4-months-per-patch cycle means anything important or any improvement comes so late I can’t even care for it, I just can’t spend 4 months waiting and hoping.

We need these options exposed so the community can take care of it, to put it bluntly.

I haven’t done any testing with them turned off, but they seem to work for me. I set a modest 50fps as my limit, and OLOD 400/TLOD 200. On the ground I rarely dip below 50 now, which would have been impossible for me in 2020 without the you-know-what.

the other app is much faster in acting BEFORE the slowdown happens and even features strict VRAM monitoring and in depth options, in my case since I have a 5080 I just want it to change OLOD and TLOD and nothing else, for example

Agree of course, i have mine set to minimum (10) and i’m running MSFS2024 on a Radeon 780M - Thinkpad laptop.

Ditto I set Asobo’s Dynamic to 30 and use 2X frames. It works well, hovering between 50 fps to 60 fps on my Gtx1080ti
