Why not make checklists editable. While learning the FBW A320, I came across several different checklists, all different to one degree or another. Editing would allow adding, deleting or revising items to eliminate inoperative function checks. And I’m not talking about using XML on the files. I’m a sim pilot, not a programmer.
It actually is not that difficult to modify the checklists even if you are not a programmer.
I am not a programmer and have been modifying the checklists in planes I fly frequently.
I open the xml file in Notepad ++ and the structure is not that difficult to understand.
I dont bother with the interactive portion, I just delete or add checklist items as it suits my style of flying.
Then again, I do enjoy this type of thing.
I also enjoy flight planning (I never use simbrief for my flight plans, I use Little Navmap).
Of course, your mileage my vary.

I just got the Aviator’s edition with 125 aircraft.
A search through installed folders for check*.xml yelds only 7 checklist files.
