Editing airports

Any rumors of some great programmer out there creating an airport editing tool? I’d like to get the taxi lights out of the middle of the taxiway at my home airport? If there is one already, I’d like to know about it.

The SDK, activate developer mode and then download it.

Presently no way to edit existing airport data. Only way to do it is to start from scratch. No word on whether or not they will allow it in the future.

Truthfully, I suspect not. If they allow folks to edit the world, then the world will be fixed by someone else that could make money off of offering country fixes. I don’t think they’d let that get away from them.

To your last paragraph, I can almost hear ORBX saying, “Hold my beer!”. Lol.

Airport Design Editor (ADE) is being updated to support MSFS 2020. No release date so far and it is in early alpha.

I need to declare an interest in that I am the developer of this tool which has been around since 2006 and is freeware

Well, this is exciting to hear. I’ll be happy to use it when it’s out.

Need more testers?

We are OK for testers at the moment but will need more later - thanks for your interest

Wonderful news. Used it for ever on FSX.

Please, sooner rather than later…37,000 default airports without apron, ramp or gate night lighting!..you should give a copy to Asobo in order that they can finish what they started!

Seriously, great utility. Can’t wait…and thanks for taking the time.
