As you can see in the following shot, there is a problem with the main exit texture mapping, so for anybody bothered by this, I have included an alternative version relying on decals, which does not have this problem but is a little less accurate.
Yay! Was hoping some classic airline liveries would be made. Hopefully we can get the klm and Swiss one in the future. Definitely getting this for the plane and finding some historic routes to fly.
Also hoping for some WWII-era repaints: winter camouflage; summer camouflage; Hitler’s D-2600; paint from the Ju-52 used in the 1981 movie “Where Eagles Dare”; etc.
very nice. Changed it, so I can also use it with the 1939 model as D-AQUI. After all IIRC that was the real Lufthansa registration of that exact plane in 1936.
I’ve updated my package to include the modified version by @Archer374, so any download from now on can install a version of D-AQUI on the 1939 model.
Nice work. I’m hoping more painters get on it soon as well. I’d love to see a representation of Canadian Airways CF-ARM (even if it was a /1m in real life).
great paint, as reference the 2x Small Balkenkreuz seen here to the left of the main Balkenkreuz are where the paint mirrors… so anything that crosses into that area are where it will mirror onto the door areas on BOTH sides (kills about 70% of schemes instantly!)
A little update on this: I have managed to get in contact Oliver Moser, the Jus creator. He has acknowledged the problem and while he can’t make promises, he has forwarded the issue to the modelers.
It really is a pretty model - but only with the livery layouts as given in the MS selection window. But as other painters are already pointing out: there are so many irregularities with the mapping that this model is not going to get fair representation until or if Oliver can get round to fixing them.
Such a pity… even my favourite livery that I painted for FSX (JU Air - Milka) is going to be impossible to get a fair rep.
The mirrored wing engines will kill liveries that have text placards (Oh yes, there are things like oil spec, drain, and the like).
Also I am not sure yet, but the floats may also have an issue . Although I could be wrong there as I have yet to do an analysis on them, Still, I am keeping my fingers crossed because it really is an otherwise fantastic model…
I’m happy to confirm, that the Ju52 Update by Oliver Moser has indeed fixed the texture mirroring issues and my D-CDLH repaint is now working as intended!
