I created a very simple flight plan in planner.flightsimulator.com - 5T9 to 79XA. I had previously flown into 5T9 from Laredo, Texas. I picked both airfields out using the planner’s map, and added a waypoint LAWMN. When I load this into MSFS2024 EFB nothing is loaded in, no departure, waypoint or arrival. Why is nothing loaded? Is this a bug or is it because 79XA isn’t in the sim?- 5T9 certainly is. If that’s the reason then why is the planner displaying 79XA? (BTW I am using the SU5 beta)
Hi @AndyClark20
It appears 79XA is not in the 2024 AIRAC sim database. So there’s an issue with it missing, since it exists IRL, and is recognized in the online flight planner. Don’t know why its data not getting pulled into the sim, e.g. Formatting error, mistyped named, etc.
The shame is, that data is being pulled into the online flight planner database, but not making it into the sim itself. I don’t know of any special process that private airports can opt out of the FAA database, normally they just have to be shown on sectionals, etc with a “circled P” symbol to indicate they’re private. But normally the FAA requires all airports (even closed ones that still have a runway that would be usable in an emergency) be shown on the charts.
My recommendation is to report the issue in the thread below:
