ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

If you pop out the EFB and use the scoll wheel on the mouse to zoom in and out the map in the EFB it will zoom the main window at the same time.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Pop out the EFB

  2. Choose to see the map.

  3. Use scroll wheel to zoom in and out.

In FS2024 Beta, when attempting to zoom in on the EFB using the mouse scroll wheel, the entire cockpit view zooms in or out instead of just the instrument. This behavior differs from the non-beta version, where zooming on the EFB only affected the instrument itself.

How often does this occur for you?
Every time during flight, consistently reproducible.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Launch FS2024 Beta on PC.

  2. Load a flight

  3. Hover the mouse cursor over the EFB.

  4. Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom.

  5. Observe that the entire cockpit view zooms, not just the EFB.

I have the same problem. Hope they will fix it for the final SU4ā€¦

Same here only started with SU4

After the SU4 update i also have this problem. Iā€™ve tried these changes below, none have fully corrected. Iā€™m using #3 below for work around

Changed ā€˜Cockpit interaction systemā€™ from Lock to Legacy

  1. General / Flight Interface

    1. Didnā€™t help, with legacy you donā€™t have a pointer anymore

  2. Settings / Accessibility / Effects and Animation 'allow 2d cursor on all peripherals"

    1. From ā€˜no checkā€™ to check

    2. No change, revert back to ā€˜no checkā€™

  3. General / Camera / ā€˜Zoom Functionā€™

    1. Changed from manual to ā€˜focusā€™

    2. Works again . . . But, now each time I hit right mouse button, it auto zooms to what Iā€™m looking at

    3. So I have to use middle mouse button to toggle camera view and use mouse

SU4 released with this bug that did not exist in SU3

Guys, Iā€™ve found THE solutionā€¦ Apparently SU4 added a binding that links the mouse scroll wheel to cockpit view zoom. I just deleted that binding, and the problem is gone! Hihaaa!!

The same thing happens with the ATC window. Trying to scroll through options when it is popped out on a second monitor, also zooms in /out the cockpit view.

How do you zoom in the cockpit then, and in the outside view?

Not being able to do that with the mouse is going to ruin the whole way of looking at things.

Iā€™m in the french language version but itā€™s something like ā€œcockpit view zoomā€. Unbind the mouse wheel on it :wink:

I zoom in the cockpit with a joystick hat on my stick. I hope youā€™ll find a way too.

It doesnā€™t solve my use case. I pop out efb to tablet then use the finger pinch/expand to zoom in and out. That funxtionality still zooms the main cockpit window. Still a bug and needs fixed.

I donā€™t know that this is a solution for those of us that want the wheel to zoom in cockpit view, but not if our cursor is over the EFB - which is the correct behavior when the EFB is not popped out, it just changes when the EFB is popped out.

It would be great if this ā€œsolutionā€ could be unmarked as such, otherwise the developers may deprioritize it even though the core issue is not resolved.

I fully agree. This should not be seen as solved - especially when in MSFS 2020 there is no similar problem.

I have removed his solution mark since this is not a solution, just a workaround for some players.

This worked fine before SU4, so no reason for it not to be solved and work again as it always have.
