Now, as is blatantly obvious, a lot of the current release needs work, performance however is good for me (PC) which I am sure boils down to my specs.
I’m running a 14900k @ 5,7 GHz, a 4090 and 32 GB of DDR5 @ 6000.
However, in certain scenarios the CPU memory “overflows”. Kjfk with all on ultra and TLOD 400 yields near 60 fps (frame gen, Raw value is around 28-35) but I wonder what the effects of (according to the dev view resource monitor) being almost 15(!) Gb short of RAM. in said scenario it peaks at roughly 45 GB, of which I can of course only provide 32.
Any insights?
Thanks in advance
Try toggling developer mode when this happens. ie if it’s off turn it on, and if it’s on turn it off. On my 8GB 4060 ti this immediately dropped VRAM frokm 8GB to 6.5 GB and performance improved instantly. ie from a stuttery 35-40 fps to 70+ fps.
I usually found my VRAM maxed out after a selecting a different aircraft after having a flight with another aircraft. SInce using this method I can get a very stable 50 FPS at London City Aiport on the 737 max.
Seems to have a lasting effect but I am in and out of developer mode all the time, trying to work out how to convert my liveries for 2024.
Turning Dev mode on and of has no effect on performance (which I am pleased with anyways)
However CPU mem increases almost exponentially after a few seconds, which I attribute to my TLOD setting. I am curious as to what that might mean for me as it’s definitely not too big an impact on performance
Also, I am not talking about VRAM, but CPU mem, therefore RAM
