Then what is the cause of the loading in of textures on first load of an aircraft? Do we know, for certain, that all files are loaded into those directories or are just some loaded and then more when absolutely needed?
scenery you fly to gets stored in sceneryindexes folder that is for streamed scenery, things in streamedpackages is only marketplace stuff and msfs default stuff just take a look that is why it always activate packs when loading the sim. Just try what i said you will see it works. No active pack means not in sim. Just try it out.
For example, on this laptop I’m using, I’ve only loaded the sim into one aircraft – the Caravan. If I look in the Caravan’s directory, I see folders and content there that I do not see in other aircraft directories that I have not loaded into.
Idk. I tried it. Deleted the bredok folder and made streamed read-only. Now I get stuck at 96% with the “loading taking too long” error. Worked fine earlier this morning. Made it RW again and boom, right in. (shrug)
no idea why it will not work for you did you also clean out the sceneryindexes folder it might be trying to load the pack because it has it stored in there from before
I just tried myself at an airport and with an aircraft i never used before yet, works perfectly fine everything is working actually great now default MSFS 24 scenery , no crazy 2020 liveries from marketplace that mess up the aicraft.

Ok 1 issue i did run into is certain aircraft missing sound now, gues it it is not foolproof anyway. They just need to give us the option to enable and disable this stuff.
I’ve noticed that the sim is a bit broken today after all of our 2020 content was ported over and streamed whether it works or not. Struggling to get past 97% and when I do get in aircraft textures are blinky and LOD is pretty bad

This happened today with my DC3. It got renamed retrofit and I now have lost all the new skins and there are now 3 different DC3’s to choose from in the menu. Why in God’s name do I now have 3 versions of the same plane

Yep, confirmed that creating empty folders in the Community folder does disable Marketplace add-ons with that name. The ancient LVFR static aircraft I bought in the days before decent AI packages was doing horrible things to my airports.
Now I’ve disabled duplicate (or terrible) planes, 1935 airports, LVFR statics, etc:

official option to eneable and disable is coming week of december 9th.
I almost understand the problems with the servers on launch day. But, releasing 2024 without the ability to disable marketplace content is really beyond belief. This is not reflective of even an ALPHA/BETA product being released. The is just not finished and the franchise deserved better.
