Couple of notes, just to help guide responses: 1) Yes, I know PC would be better but I’m on console and I like it. 2) I am a real-world CFI and I understand p-factor, etc.
Ok, so, the prop aircraft are, essentially, poorly rigged…..Here’s what I mean: In level cruise, they have a left-banking tendancy, ostensibly due to torque and spiral slipstream. The CFD system is really quite good and so we see these effects. The problem is that, real-world prop aircraft are not actually perfectly straight. They are rigged to counteract these tendancies such that, in trimmed, level flight, the aircaft will fly essentially hands-off.
Some modeled aircraft have rudder or even aileron trim so this is sort of a moot point. But others, like the wonderful CAS Piper J3, do not and the left bank tendancy is annoying. So, is there a way to force the aileron trim to work behind the scenes even though the model doesn’t impliment it? Or offset the thumstick to the right a bit or something?
Thanks!
