Error 0x87dd0021

Hi guys - I’m trying to reinstall Flight Simulator 2020 and am getting an “unable to sign into XBox error message” with code 0x87dd0021. I eventually reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch on my PC but this failed to resolve.

When checking GitHub I found the code referred to the following:

///

  •            /// <b>0x87dd0021</b>*

  • /// The endpoint does not require an authorization token, but the application is attempting to *

  •            /// retrieve a token via GetTokenAndSignatureAsync.*

  •            /// </summary>*

  •            AM_E_NO_TOKEN_REQUIRED = (int)0x87dd0021,*

My assumption is there is an issue with the way my account auth is working/not working and it’s prevengin me install.

I manage to download the first part of the installer (the 1GB part) but this launches, runs for about 10 secs, and then fails.

Event viewer reports the following application error

Any suggestions?

Open microsoft store and update gaming services app.

Thanks - resolved… strange, I would have thought gaming services app would install, clearly wasn’t…
