Hi, noted
Yes, I think they can be more serious about it
A pyramid should not be replaced by a building
Bridges should not have a second bridge below them
and terrain images should not be completely damaged which is different to other comments here
I’ll follow the advice
Thank you
Carlos
Its impossible to check one billion buildings. So they AUTOGENERATE with software from flat 2 d satelite images.
Now the software sees a building but can not see it is a piramide. So a square building is being put there.
Often you see the 2d picture of the bridge in the satelite image … with a 3d GENERIC bridge on top. There are millions of bridges and they can not be modeled individually
You just do not understand the technique of it. And shouting a building is not correct and they are not serious is a bit over reacting. Have you seen the piramide of egypt ? Did you see vesuvius …
Its not possible for a few programmers to check the COMPLETE WORLD if everything is picture perfect. They can do that but would cost 346 years …
So perhaps that explains the reaction i gave. If not … to bad and file a zendesk ticket on a wrong bridge …
or even better … make your own scenery to correct the piramide ( and find out how much time it cost to create JUST ONE building )
“Now the software sees a building but can not see it is a piramide. So a square building is being put there.”
Yes, I thought that was the reason but thought that pointing it out, could be useful to focus on a fix, they might no be aware
“they are not serious is a bit over reacting.”
Well the sarcastic tone was the reason for my saying, I was just notifying issues in the display and the comments help in no way
“Have you seen the piramide of egypt ? Did you see vesuvius …”
No, I haven’t flown in those areas yet
“Its not possible for a few programmers to check the COMPLETE WORLD if everything is picture perfect. They can do that but would cost 346 years …”
Sure thing, Just relax I agree, nobody is arguing, that is why in pointed out a few errors so they can be aware of those and fix them
“or even better … make your own scenery to correct the piramide ( and find out how much time it cost to create JUST ONE building )”
Brilliant
As it is not you who has to fix it, relax, I was just pointed this issues out so they are aware and maybe, do something about it .
And yes, I’m learning to create sceneries
No problem
I am not an English native. My come one meant more like a sort of how come?
Well not sure about the effect on a native one, it was just an expression but expression written lack of “expression” jajaja hope you understand me.
Anyway I do understand very well you point and I’m happy with the sim just that I found some issues that I wanted to report
Not sure yet if this was the best site
I feel we lack of a direct contact with the stuff as we do have in Orbx.
When you report there action is often taken fast but to start this is just my second time in this forum and feel kind of lost as all is totally knew, the style, the categories etc
“but i have seen so many stupid demands from people who never have piloted a plane in the first place. In the past 3 weeks.”
jajajaja I’ve seen many of that all over too
Well, happy all is clear mate
Have a nice evening
Cheers
You do wonder that if the AI is smart enough to recognize a bridge and add a bridge above the water, why doesn’t it erase the picture of the bridge on the texture underneath. A fix that didn’t make it through QA yet I guess. The ICON A5 tends to get stuck under these generated bridges since the sim thinks there’s land underneath the bridge.
A lot depends on other data sources to put the correct building in place, like land use data for forest and water boundaries. Fixing that kind of stuff, merging and checking datasets will improve things everywhere.
It seems a lot of things are still in early stages with little error correction on the input data. Out of place 200 story buildings should be relatively easy to filter out as well as find mismatches in lake / waterway / runway heights vs terrain and remove hills from water ways etc.
Handcrafting building and manually fixing things works as well, yet synchronizing all the different data streams will mean worldwide improvements.
Of course, having worked with datasets from all over the world, I understand the difficulties in matching things together. It takes time and effort, a lot of it.
I have noticed some
I just read the issue with the bridges has been solved ( I’m impressed) but I haven’t check yet
I bet in time they will make it better and better, is just a matter of patience and time and of course warn/report where the issues are seeing otherwise it could be very difficult for them to know
