ETA for Sim Update 2 full release ETA?

I’m not a computer expert but I’m having a lot of fun in MSFS 2024 using Meta Quest 3. The aircraft panels are kind of blurry, but if you look closely they get really sharp. The visual in general, is superb.

Mine is on next week but don’t quote me

I haven’t ever paid too close attention to the beta/full release cycles and timing, but given there was a new beta, “1.4.16.0” on the 28th?? I can’t imagine we’ll see an official release in less than a week and more like two weeks minimum I suspect is more realistic.

Don’t hold your breath folks.

I don’t suppose they ever declare any betas as “Release Candidate” do they? Never hit my radar if they ever have?

Get the VD if you want some clarity.

I think they should fix the compatibility of ll and ff 2020 first rather than thinking about new ones

Any idea when SU2 will finally be released. I do not to download the BETA version. The May update seemed small - so I think it is close??

I hope it will be soon.
I also did not download the Beta version, waiting for the final SU2.

OK - Nobody knows. It’s possible Asobo doesn’t know either.

In all seriousness, though, I’m personally glad they’re taking the time to make it right.

SU2 is bringing major changes to the sim so let’s hope the delay is a good thing!

Oh I just heard there was a holiday recently in France. Spoke too soon

Be careful what you wish for!

(I’m in SU2 Beta.)

What do you mean? I’m in the Beta too.

Beta is not ready for release - some people are happy with it, some not. Personally, I want the TBM exhaust fume regression corrected, and a solution to the VRAM problem, which is NOT fixed.

Let us hope Asobo are not pushed into releasing it too soon by threads such as this.

Doubtful they let the community here make the go/no-go decision to release. Their user base is much larger than the good folks around here, and while our input is taken seriously, there are things we don’t see that guide such decisions.

Asobo/MS have already made several momentous gaffes, notably the release process and the number of bugs on release. Jorg apologised for this, and said they would learn lessons from this.

There are many problems still with SU2, for example the CTDs many are getting. (I’m certainly getting more, but not enough to trouble me.) A release causing many more to suffer the same way would surely go against Jorg’s comments?

I don’t know whether they will decide to risk it, for whatever reason. In their shoes, I certainly wouldn’t.

Hopefully when they’ve at least sorted out the bugs that the beta introduced! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It is shaping up well in most regards though. I’ve been mostly happy with performance, but there are a few functionality issues that need to be addressed before going final.

IF SU2 gets released in it’s current state, or close to it, I won’t be disappointed. I am not suffering from CTD’s, severe stutters and what not but I do feel for those that are.

This latest build has introduced a few more stutters and my FPS has regressed 5 to 15% depending on where I am. But overall, I am happy with my performance.

It’s common for Asobo to have many bug fixes in the next beta so I’m looking forward to SU3 beta. I would bet Asobo has been working on SU3 for quite some time.

Some of us, including you, have been around long enough to understand betas are a rollercoaster ride. So far I see Asobo taking more steps forward than backwards and personally I am happy with the ways things are progressing.

Jorg did apologize and he is very passionate towards Flight Simulator. He flies IRL and it’s great he is leading this project. I am not holding him to his apology every time there is a regression.

Yeah, well there are many things “I want” corrected too. I think I have a higher tolerance for bugs and more patience than many on this forum. I feel it will eventually pay off.

Finally, and I might get flamed for this…flame away, I believe some of the complaints I have read are issues on the users end.

Hopefully when it’s right! It ain’t yet so …….. a little while longer. It’s that old saying, how long’s a piece of string ….

Change logs for the last 3 betas include only 1 or 2 items. All major improvements were done in the first 2 beta releases. Latest beta is from 9 days ago. Honestly I was expecting public release this past week

Whoever knows won’t say it here.
