• Any initiated changes in the Device List causes wait times to be anywhere from 1-3 minutes. I have minimal devices, great specs and game itself runs fine. Just wait times in Devices List
I know this bug is reported cannot find to add to it. I got new controllers and found that making adjustments to them is too slow the joystick mapper seems to be broken. I have to wait 30 seconds plus for each click. Is there a way to reset all joysticks mapper to fresh start?
I would send a video but too big and I do not have a Cloud account. Its just impossible to work with and because I have new controllers I can no longer fly until I can set them up. This really needs to be fixed.. Circles circling for 30 seconds then click and wait another 30 seconds, after clicking to finally get one adjustment done takes about 5 minutes. TOO AGGRIVATING.
This seems to be resolved in the last few builds of SU3 so it should be rolling out to everyone soon.
Well I cannot fly until the SU3 then?
Until then I have nothing to do but complain. This was the worst program I purchased with good money to have so many bugs in it that it is now unplayable until the next patch just because I bought new controllers. Terrible. I like the graphics, career mode and Challenge mode. All are useless if I cannot get my controllers to work. Please hurry the SU3
This is how we ended up with a troubled product at launch - rushing before it was complete. Let’s not “hurry the SU3” and instead “take the time necessary to ensure that it’s the best build possible.”
My experience with the “slow profiles” issue.
I had the issue like many others have reported. I started to play less and less at the thought of dealing with profiles.
I decided to try SU3 to see if it was fixed like some have reported.
t did indeed speed up the profiles switching, thank the Lord I thought.
Then I started to notice other (related?) issues in SU3. After a day I noticed that it wasnt saving the last aircraft I flew. It always started out with the craft that I flew before I went to SU3. If I deleted that aircraft it would default to the 172 and never changed from that irrespective of which aircraft I flew. When I reenabled the aircraft it would permanently default to that. OK, not a big deal I could live with that. If I reverted to Su2 it would save last plane flown.
Then I started noticing other issues. It wouldn’t save new bindings I made for aircraft. I had frequent times when the sim wouldnt quit properly and had to be forced to quit via Task Manager.
So, I finally bit the bullet and cleared the cloudsaves, despite the prospect of having to recreate all my bindings and no guarantee that this would fix it. Clearing the cloud starts you afresh in may ways, not just the bindings all gone but logbook, settings, avatar etc. N.B. start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves if you’re wondering.
I spent all of Sunday recreating profiles with a combination of tools and manually recreating. In the end I had to do most of it manually for one reason or another. (tool shortcomings in differentaiting between General and aircraft profiles, some restored wouldnt retain all bindings, and i was scared I was just going to restore a corrupt profiles. Redoing settings etc.
Now its OK, profiles are fast, last aircraft is remembered and bindings mostly stick.
Ok but not perfect. If you delete a profile the it cant see some of the other profiles you have until you releod the sim, sometimes bindings dont seem to stick, apply to all aircraft rarely works and “set as default” chooses by itself whether to appear or not.
Overall I thing Microsobo need to look at the whole profile system. While I applaud the attempt to improve on 2020 system it is fundamentally flawed in execution. It shouldnt get corrupted in the first place. It has many quirks in operation and would benefit from a bit of a redesign in UI and solidity of execution.
It is currently the worst thing about 2024 in my opinion and needs a rethink.
How Asobo manages to actually go backwards on so many aspects from the MSFS 2020 entry point (which is already light years away from feeling polished) is beyond me.
