We have an experimental fix for the engine #1 shut down.
PLEASE NOTE : This contains all A32NX mod features, it is not only the fix itself.
Please test this if you can and tell us if something doesn’t work !
DISCLAIMER : This is a workaround, not a fix to the (presumably) internal issue that causes this. Please do not expect perfect behaviour. Asobo’s fix will for sure be better.
Ok, i found only two major problem in flight, if it can help i’ll say them.
First, can’t go back from mach speed to kts, it’s playable but it’s a pain in the ■■■ when landing.
Second
MfD random reset and turn down luminosity, it happend to me like six or seven times before landing.
Thank you for your work!
p.s.
Autopilot now keep the speed a lot better than before in landing
The Mach thing has nothing to do with the nx add on … its a bug in the airliners after patch ( think 787 has the same and i had it without the nx version also )
i know, but they alredy fixed some of the Asobo’s bug, so i pointed them out, maybe they can fix that too.
They deserve a lot of “thank you” for what they are doing
So far I’ve been quite lucky in that I have had very few crashes to desktop and pretty decent FPS. I applied this mod and tonight flew from Nice to Heathrow. No issues starting the aircraft from cold and dark, The auto pilot is still a bit flaky, some weird issues in the climb around 30000 feet where the speed tape dropped to zero and then shot back up to 300 IAS but it managed the approach ok and I landed by hand. I had the knots/Mach issue but honestly it’s not a problem as it still displays knots when you turn the knob.
There are still some things to sort out but having been away all week and reading up on the issues caused by the patch I was surprised that things weren’t as bad as I was expecting.
Where you put the a32nx folder is important. It’s a sub folder of the extracted zip file. I made the mistake of putting the whole extracted folder in my Communities folder and it didn’t work. Also depending on which version of the game you have, the community folder is in different places. I installed my boxed version of the sim on a second drive so my communities folder is in the main fs2020 directory on that drive. If you used the default installation path it will be C:\Users[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_\LocalCache\Packages\Community for the store edition and C:\Users[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community for the steam edition. Finally for the engine fix, make sure you download the Master branch found here https://github.com/flybywiresim/a32nx/archive/master.zip
I definitely grabbed the master branch from their github and I definitely put it in my community folder. It’s the first part of your reply that’s not clear. I’m opening the zip file and dragging the single folder into my community folder. Is this not correct?
