Exporting Garmin displays to other monitors?

It’s cool that we can move the checklist and ATC boxes out of the main display area and move it to a separate monitor. Is it possible to export the Garmin displays to a separate monitor as well? Thanks!

This is something I’m hoping for. I use monitors for the MFD output in DCS and miss it a lot in here.

I’m hoping this comes to MSFS as well. I used it frequently in X-Plane.

YES! Another user Campusto also explained to me how to do it.

In Options -> Controls assign a button to “New UI Window Mode” (found under Miscellaneous) save and go back to the cockpit. While keeping that button pressed hover your mouse over a screen (the cursor turns into a magnifying glass) and click the screen.

For me, New UI Window Mode was assigned to Right-Alt on keyboard by default. It allows for duplicating any screen into a separate window, that can then be dragged to another monitor.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I can confirm that works! Now to test if it remembers window location and size, because it doesn’t do so for the checklist and ATC windows.

EDIT: It doesn’t remember window location or size for the new UI windows so at every flight, I have to resize the ATC window to make it bigger and then ahve to do the whole thing of popping out the Garmin displays, separating them, and then locating and sizing them properly. Surely there’s a way to save this and not have to do it every time I load an aircraft? I’ve looked at the controls and there doesn’t seem to be anything there to help out.

Great @Yannonymous! Works like a charm.

Anyone find a way for it to remember your windows location and sizing?

Is it just me or does the sim ignore the control inputs (from my joystick) when interacting with the popped out windows. For example when I pop out the ATC window and choose one of the option my plane will ignore any input from the joystick. Which is bad when you are currently climbing or turning

It is true indeed. You can also observe this behavior when flying with two monitors and clicking outside your main simulator window. Joystick inputs have no effect.

Anyone experienced frames cut in half while popping out the panels?

Yes I tried popping out the camera window and placing it on a second monitor. I thought I could make selections while flying. Unfortunately clicking that window and taking focus from the FS2020 main window removes control inputs so the airplane goes ballistic. When switching to the drone view camera also disconnects control inputs.Thereis a default key “c” to reactivate the primary flight controls. I guess this is so keyboard inputs will control the drone. Having to hit “c” every time entering drone view is a pain.i think the camera system is way to complicated and does things that should be an addon.

Did anyone submit a request via Zendesk ?

We need UI windows size to be “remembered” and to not lose aircraft control when we are clicking on the pop-out windows and/or drone camera.

I just entered a bug ticket on Zendesk.

Isn’t this also an issue in FSX?
