A quick question I’m trying to figure out…
I like to fly and look at the plane flying from external view, however when I’m trying to spot a good view it seems that the camera is rotating about some strange axis rather then the center mass of the aircraft.
Here is an example in the picture below… The red square is where the plane is and the green square is where I’m trying to get it set and spin around. Is that possible or it’s a fluke with this kind of view ?
Thank you for your help !
You can just use the drone camera to move the position of the aircraft. That being said, it might be a Fenix A320 aircraft thing where they have their own reference point within their coding. Perhaps look for any Fenix A320 camera tweaks mod that you can find, or edit it the camera.cfg yourself.
The green box that you’re showing doesn’t seem to be the center mass of the aircraft though, just saying.
Actually, don’t edit the camera.cfg file yourself… because I have heard some reports where editing anything in the Fenix A320 files will make it fail the file integrity verification check and can end up deleting your entire aircraft.
This camera issue at “External” view is happening with all airplanes. When using RMB and move it around the axis it’s just not centered. It’s this view specifically that has this issue.
I tried drone mode however it’s causing me trouble to taxi that way, doesn’t recognize the inputs.
I guess… but it’s always been like that and I’m used to it. It’s slightly anchored at the bottom of the screen because it maximise the portion of the screen that’s in the sky at the expense of the ground which doesn’t need to take up too much space.
And 99% of my flights are done from inside the cockpit anyway, so external camera positioning or anchor point is not a big of an issue for me. I don’t really care to be honest since I barely use it.
I use exterior view during many ground operations and having the tails and wingtip going out of view in certain angles is not looking good, especially for screenshots.
When in drone view, the C key on the keyboard toggles control between the aircraft and the drone with the default keyboard mapping. You can therefore move the drone to get the view you want, press C and control the aircraft.
